My brother told me about this place, nothing really to look at. I was a little hesitant. Then I tried the only sandwich? I though it was a little odd but I tried it. I have to say that is the best sandwich I have ever eaten. I am a very picky eater but this sandwich was incredible. The chicken... More

Not only is their chicken sandwich a meal worth waiting for, Her rhubarb scones are heavenly ( seasonally offered). we try eating here every few months and the lines are always out the door. they do move quickly. Her signature tables are used ironing boards. This Australian electric blue wigged wonder has hit the magic spot for casual dining. She... More

LOVE...LOVE...LOVE Bakesale Betty's! OK you have to stand in line and you only have two items on the menu. But it is worth it. Bring cash, although I think they take credit cards now. And get a cookie, you stood in line you deserve it! :-)

The food was good, but I am not sure if I loved it so much that I would crave for it. I might give it another try though!

The food is good, the service is very good. I admit I stay away from lines and long waits, a nightmare for me is standing outside a restaurant on a Sunday morning for an hour so I can eat "brunch". No knock on the place per se, but the process is not worth it IMHO. Go around the corner to... More

This place is right around the corner from my house so I can easily go here. The fried chicken sandwich is delicious (as is the salad - which is just the sandwich minus the bread). You can't go wrong and the sandwich is huge so very filling. The line can sometimes be quite long if you don't get there at... More

Iconic Oakland establishment. Great fried chicken and coleslaw sandwiches. We make a point to to often. Sit outside and eat on an old ironing board for a table. Only in Oakland. There's often a line and the staff comes through the line offering lemon bars while you wait!

Their chicken sandwich and shortcake is yum. It's a fried chicken sandwich on a fresh roll. And when it's on season, the shortcake is worth coming here for. Everyone usually complains about the lines, but that's something BB can't control, if people want to come, they'll come. However, the very limited hours open is the only bad I can say.... More

They used to be on their game with top notch sandwiches and baked goods, but now they just seem to be cutting quality and selection to maximize profit. There is less chicken on the roll and fewer choices on the menu and they just seem to resting on their laurels.
