We dropped in for a late-night meal after having buzzed around the East Bay all day. Even though it was 20 minutes prior to their closing, the staff welcomed us in...nice touch, folks! Both of our meals were flavourful and the portions were generous...kudo's to the kitchen staff!

Stopped in for dinner one night. Had the Punjabi goat curry, which was very tasty and expertly prepared. They do charge for naan, which usually comes with an Indian entree. Very well prepared entrees, limited dessert selection, and very limited beer selection. Would definitely go again.

The Service was good. But the quality was not really up to the standards. Bulk food made in advance just rewarmed again and again.

This is a branch of the original Berkeley restaurant, in a much more spacious location in the old Swan's market in downtown Oakland. The daily specials are all well described and tasty and especially highlighted by the multiple choices of hot and fresh flavored breads, a winning combo. Entrees were interesting and didn't pull punches on spice. Service very attentive... More

The tandooris and biryani s are great but make sure you order the freshly made naan, despite whatever bread comes with your entree.because it is special. Spacious room with natural daylight and colorful decor in a safe part of Oakland, popular with the lunch crowd.prices are are $11-15 per main course with huge servings.

What a great restaurant. The service was great, the food incredible, and the decor phenomenal. They really accommodated special diets and the food was so delicious.

This place had great food! The garlic naan is excellent, you have to try it. The wait time is a little bit longer here than for a quick lunch, but its worth the wait if you have the time.

I looked forward to dining here with great anticipation, as I was enamored by their concept of a set of about 6 different curries each day, a rotating menu of curries depending on what was fresh at the market that day. Also, they bake several different breads each day. So a great concept, but not so great execution. My daughter... More

This was just down the street from our hotel. What a wonderful surprise. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent yet reasonable priced. The bread is fantastic. If you have to be in Oakland, give this place a try.
