You get what you pay for!! Delicious!

I ate at this restaurant before the Purity Ring concert on 6/20. I ordered the Mulitas: it was a little pricey for my taste, but it was worth it! The steak was tender and the veggies were HELLA fresh! I am also Extremely impressed that they serve LA Cetto wine, for it's not common to find at... read more

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. But it was pricey and the bill was high. I would recommend to ask for an itemized bill if you book for a large party. I had a few margaritas and didn't think to ask for the detailed bill. Plus I felt as though we got pushed out once we stopped... More

I had ceviche, tacos (both the fish and the camarón ones) and sangria. All the food and the sangria were great, and the place aha a very nice vibe - music, decor, tables, everything!

Having grown up in Southern California I have struggled to find good Mexican food in the Bay Area. Yesterday I had the good fortune to be invited to a birthday party at Tamarindo. As this was a private event we had a buffet which was nothing less than spectacular in both the variety and preparation of dishes. The Chicken Mole... More

We found this place almost accidently -- and are we glad we did. We lived in Mexico for a number of years, and sampled offerings all over that country. We were delighted at the depth and intelligence of the menu that includes dishes from from Oaxaca moles to Jalisco tacos. The food was made from fresh ingredients and well presented.... More

This trendy joint is around the corner from the Marriott and Oakland City Center. I had the skirt steak ($21) which was accompanied by guacamole and beans and which was very good. My Aunt had a pork dish, which I helped her finish. We had the house Margaritas, which didn't come in the usual glasses, but which were well made.... More

Went for Happy Hour and tapas, ended up having full meals. The service was great, accommodating and always with a smile. Drinks were well mixed, tapas and food were great. My experience at Tamarindo made entertaining family from overseas a great one.

Within a block of the Convention Center in downtown Oakland, Tamarindo offers tasty dishes in a casual atmosphere. Had the ceviche, seared scallops, grilled chiles, grilled vegetables, shrimp tacos, and chicken tamales. All were very good! Considering the quality of the food and the service, the prices are reasonable (unless you're used to chain restaurants, then you're bound to be... More

If you are tired of uninspired Mexican food that is for gringos only, then go here. From food to beverages, sample as many items as you can, family style. Quite delicious and fun! Check out the large mezcal selection, plus tequilla. Not cheap though. Best for a special night out. We went for a college graduation celebration.
