Nice dinner in Oakland

I spent a few nights in Oakland and we found this restaurant. It's been a nice surprise. Good food, nice beers, very pleasant ambiance. We came back the day after!

The good: We sat on the top deck with a nice view of the harbor at a cozy little table. The ambiance was great. Food was tasty--a little pricey, but kind of what you expect at a marina with no competition nearby. The not so great: Service. We asked if we could order from the $3 happy hour special 10... More

Driving by Coast Guard "island" today we saw this restaurant tucked away right on the water's edge beside the marina, located in an historical landmark lighthouse built in 1890. The lovely building has windows on three sides overlooking the waterway between Oakland and the island of Alameda. Gorgeous! We were greeted immediately and seated next to a window with views... My brother and sister-in-law treated me to a celebration of my recent retirement and we landed at Quinn's Lighthouse. What a delight! The seafood was fresh...I had the bucket of clams and mussels in the white wine broth. What is yummy is that they offer a selection of broths on clams et al, including spicy cajun. I'll try that next... More

The lobster chowder and the calm and lovely harbor view is enough reason to come back again and again. The service is spot on and the atmosphere is pleasing. It is classy but casual. Well priced with high quality ingredients. Some menu items are bigger hits then others, but can be a matter of taste. It is a relaxing place... More

Reasonable priced food. Very casual with peanuts thrown on the floor. The beers were very reasonable and the food was good. Located right on the water and within walking distance from the Best Western Plus Bayside.

This is a great spot for a beer, some peanuts, brunch, burgers, and their curry dish is our favorite. There's a wrap-around deck upstairs where the view is wonderful. Service is always good. It's traditional food, done well, in a very nice location if you're not in the mood for the City.

Great atmosphere, fine service, and food good but not exceptional. Fun eating peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor. Nice selection of nightly specials.

This was recommended by a friend. The ambiance is very sea coast. We ate on the patio looking out over the water. The food was excellent, I got the salmon. If I go To Oakland again, I will make this my daily place to eat.
