Wow. A piece of history near the grand lake theater. The food is OK. Huge steak with vegetables, salad and baked potato for under $20. It's all very passable for an everyday meal. I wouldn't bring my wife on our anniversary; but, for a mid week meal and a movie. Its ideal

I've been visiting this place for more than 10 years and it's not for the food. However, the food is a good value for a plain and simple meal. they do a great burger and steak. Perfect for soaking up all the tasty drinks that are poured strong. the best thing about this place is Rod Dibble at the piano.... More

This is one of the most fun strange place you will ever go. You enter through the front door and step into the alley. You sit in a booth outside the Pawn Shop our take a table under the utility pole. Grab a drink at the bar on the back porch or order food from the kitchen under the upstairs... More

Must have Oakland experience! Kitch Americana at it's best! Not about the food, it's the atmosphere and Rod Dibble. 40+ years at the piano. Just go!

This place is a dive, but I mean that in the best possible way. The star attraction is the piano player, Rod Dibble, with whom you can sing along. It is great fun.

Rat-a-tat-tat with uncomfortable booths. Wallpapered with ancient business cards. A $10 steak dinner circa 1962. Rod Dibble on the piano - can play nothing post Sinatra style era. Love love love it.
