Good but not great Italian at very reasonable prices. Outdoor dining is lovely.

Pasta P. is a place I dine now and then. I rate it very good taking into consideration the QPR - quality to price ratio. In fact, it is probably the best QPR of any Italian restaurant in the East Bay. The College Avenue location has a patio elevated about 3 feet above the street and it is... read more

love, love, love their spinach side, charming wines in a small glass and delicious yummy pastas. The décor is charming, service is consistently polite, informative and Pomodoro prices are more than fair. A light fair to a hungry family won't be disappointed. skc

This is a favorite restaurant for me and my wife. The food is always amazing and the service is always great! The last time we visited I had the ravioli di magro, which I highly recommend. I've also enjoyed the lasagna and They have an outdoor patio on the corner where you can sit in the shade (or sun) and... More

we usually go only when there is a special coupon because then the food and the price match. Nothing wrong with the food;it is tasty and nicely prepared, but nothing spectacular either. You'll have no qualms about eating here--just don't expect North Beach (which has its share of mediocre restaurants) For the price, it is a nice lace. The one... More

My wife and I have been coming to this wonderful chain restaurant for years and have always been treated like it was a family owned restaurant. The lunch specials are great, especially the caprese salad and Bolognese pasta. There is a pleasant outdoor patio when the weather is good. I've been reporting on all the new restaurants we go to,... This is a restaurant you want to own, not a restaurant you want to eat at. You want to own it because they've figured out a way to sell $1.50 worth of ingredients for $15 -- for example, undercooked capellini (which is very hard to undercook) thrown together with a few asparagus stalks (not even the tips!), cherry tomatoes and... Lots of good Italian restaurants in the Bay Area and this is one of the least expensive. Some of the entrees are good. They give calorie counts for each dish. Their bolognese is good, nice large spinach salad with lots of ingredients, salmon is good. Look, it ain't terrific food, but it is very good for the price. In Oakland... More

This is our regular place for a satisfying and comforting meal. My favorite meal is the frutti di mare, the spinach salad and the bread with the olive oil dipping sauce! The service is the best and friendliest and I belong to the Pasta Pomodoro emailing list and got a free birthday meal last night of cioppino and garlic bread!

Pasta Pomodoro has been providing reasonably priced somewhat inspired Italian food throughout the Bay Area for years. This location in North Oakland occupies a converted Chinese restaurant from years ago. The menu is pretty extensive and well above the level of The Olive Garden. There's also lunch specials that include soup or salad that are good value Recommended for something... More

Alyssa, most enthusiastic and most energetic, with service. She can provide great suggestions. I believe their freshly prepared soups are exceptional and just like homemade. The mushroom ravioli dish, which I had was absolutely fantastic. They also have an exceptional choice of desserts, and I shared the bread pudding, with my guest; we were very impressed with the presentation and... More
