If you are staying in Oakland or near Rockridge -- or new to town... this place is easy to miss because it's at the very end (or beginning) of College Avenue. Marica is consistently excellent. If you love oysters, mussels and bouillabaise... this is the place. My sweetie and I have been for dinner there 5 or 6 times and... More

i am surprise of all those good reviews about this restaurant. The food was terrible. We ordered 18 oysters. They brought 10.This was ok because they brought 2 more after we told them, but they had some special flavor. They smelled like a mud. My husband asked for cocktail souse; it had a taste like it was old.We are from New York.... More

I eat here at least once a month. I have written two prior highly laudatory reviews. They seem to have greatly improved their pork chop making it bigger/thicker, and no longer overcook it. I order it medium rare and it comes out medium rare, especially juicy. It comes with a mango salsa that I do not put on the meat... More

We decided to search for a dinner location on our travels from San Fran to the Pleasanton area. Berkeley seemed a good choice. What a wonderful meal! The location is small and I'm glad we were able to get a table without a reservation. My meal : soft shell crab, risotto and green beans. This was our first non-chain or... More

My husband and I had a delightful dinner at Marcia on Friday. For appetizers we has Prince Edwards Island Mussels in a creamy lemon tasting sauce. For the main dishes we ordered Cannelloni Pasta (vegetarian) and Australian Natural Lamb. The delicious food was accompanied by a perfectly chilled Italian (Venice) Pino Grigio. Everything, including the service, was outstanding. But the... More

We had just finished a late Friday evening visit to Cal State East Bay campus and were traveling north through Oakland on way to Folsom, when Marica came up on a Yelp search for restaurants, with reviewers stating they loved the seafood stew, lobster bisque. since it was nearly 9:00 pm we gave it a try and were well pleased.... Went to Marica for a birthday dinner. Food was excellent, service was great. They also have a great bar with extended happy hour. The place is always crowded so reservations are needed. The dish I ordered reminded me of a bouillabaisse but I felt it lacked a bit of depth. Even so the flavors were great. Others were very happy... More

You could probably eat your way up and down this street for a long time. Charming shops and restaurants. Marica was recommended by a niece who lives in the area. We had the prix fixe dinner with a fabulous lobster bisque starter. Served promptly and hot. The entree was a fabulous salmon cooked to perfection. There were several dessert choices;... More

We booked a table at Marica and were excited to try this restaurant. We are always very loyal to Woodtavern, Mullinari and Bellancio's, but wanted to try something new. We didn't even manage to get to our table. They denied us ever having booked - even through we showed them their number and a 1 minute call on our mobile... More
