Yesterday I had occasion to walk from the Jack London Amtrack station up Franklin. Being just after noon I stopped at the impressive edifice of the New Legendary Palace. It was sufficiently busy that only two tables were open. Many Chinese restaurants have something like the Happy Lunch, but not here. The featured items were dim sum, carried around on... More

The dim sum was surprisingly pretty darn good. Was in town with family and decided to give it a try. Yes, the interior was outdated, railings were sticky (plus the restroom could've used some attention). They had a good selection of dim sum and it was all very good, tasty and reasonable. I'm more into good food with ambiance being... More

Typical Chinatown restaurants: food is good but the interior needs a complete gut job. Also how about having more English speaking service staff. It is in Oakland right?

This restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine, including dim sum. The exterior facade is stunning, but the interior shows its age, as stairway banisters are sticky and lighting is dim. Exceptional Chinese food is hard to find in Oakland Chinatown; this place has good value and free parking in the evening.

You really need to visit this place with a group so that you can order the many types of Dim Sum available. It is all tasty. In a beautiful building in the heart of Oakland's Chinatown.

This was the first time I had dim sum so I can't compare with other restaurants but the food here was delicious. Most servers did not understand English, but had someone come over who did to explain some dishes to us. Other times we just experimented and took what was offered. We liked everything except something that was a "jello"... More

Very excellent Dim Sum can be found here. Fast efficient service with quality food. Large beautiful dining room upstairs makes this a very class act.

This restaurant serves Dim Sum from 11-3 daily that is simply delicious and incredibly affordable. It is a 2-story building and is bustling with locals and I would guess tourists as well. The Dim Sum is served up by lady's with the traditional steam carts with a pretty good selection, provided you get there before 2:30, because they generally start... More

I've never been to Hong Kong but being at Legendary Palace I didn't feel like I was in the US. The atmosphere and food were fabulous. I've been there several times in the last couple of years and the Dim Sum is not only great but the service, the variety and quality is fabulous. Four of us got stuffed on... More
