One of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. Been there many times, last Fri visit. On down side, reservation system not working, waited too long even with reservation but it was so worth, like every other time. Great window table and great atmosphere with fig martini to start perfect meal. Had fresh mussels and salad. Cheese plate, all exceptional.... More

Stopped for dinner on a warm spring evening. Sitting outside on the patio, which has a bohemian feel to it, we were treated to a wonderful meal for 4. Pomme frites, mussels, brocolinii pizza, all were top quality. Also an excellent fairly priced wine list made this a great visit.

We went because our son loved it. Food was quite good. However, it was my Birthday and we told them when we reserved and when we were seated. Nothing! Seems like they should care about special occasions. We are not looking for handouts but maybe a tad of ice cream or something.

A Cote is a little neighborhood place with warm staff and great food. They have a very good wine list and the ambiance is cozy and animated. Order a plate per person and share. If you are still hungry they make great desserts. All in all it is a great place.

Me and my four siblings, took our Mom there for her 75th birthday! The service was spot on, we loved our waiter! The cocktails were yummy! We ordered the asparagus flatbread, mussels, pom frittes, linguicia flatbread, coq au vin, hangar steak, butter lettuce and citrus salad, and the marinated olives. The food was outstanding, we shared everything, and there was... More

A cote, Oakland Context: we had a reservation for four at eight o'clock on a Friday night for a special Hungarian wine tasting and meal. We arrived right on time. Atmosphere: the place was packed and chaotic. When you walk in, I imagine, there is usually a host at the little standing area. The standing area was packed with milling... More

Arriving on time for our 8:30 reservation, we were told "it will be a few minutes". At 9:00 I asked for a bottle of wine while we waited, and were offered a banquette to sit with our wine and complimentary cheese. About 9:15 were taken to our table in the garden area outside with a heat lamp that wasn't working.... More

We like this restaurant, because it is a excellent dining experience with a great crowd! The wine's are super, ask one the bartender's for an selection, and you will not be disappointed! My favorite dish is the mussels! Sit at the bar, suddenly you will find yourself in multiple conversations with interesting people, it is the Bay Area Live!

A Cote is a wonderful French restaurant in Oakland. I went there with my adult daughter, a family friend, and her adult son. The restaurant appealed to both generations. We were impressed by the variety of food, the excellence of the cuisine, and the competence of the staff. The owner-chef came out of the kitchen to chat with us, and... More
