Excellent food

Great selection. Everything we tried was tender with great sauces. Not a Thai expert but seemed authentic. Service is a little slow

I went there for the lunch buffet - awesome lunch. They had curry, ground beef with string beans, which was better than I expected since I don't like string beans that much. The won tons were good, tofu and dessert. Also had the beef curry which had a great mild flavor and the Thai iced tea was also very good.... More

Service was slow since they were undermanned and at one point before even ordering, they told us they just ran out of food so they had someone get more. We ended up getting the very last pumpkin and the red curry pumpkin special was pretty good. The curry seemed a tad bit watered down to me, who's used to pretty... More

Attentive and relaxed service. Very friendly. Food was excellent. Had the Panang Curry and had it medium. TIP: their medium is probably a 4 out of 5 on most Thai scales. They also offered spicy and extra spicy. Medium was just right for me and I like it really hot. So be careful. Also had the Mango and sticky rice.... More

Being a place recommended by the staff at the hotel where we stayed. Was easy to find and we arrived just as they were opening. Despite this, they were very friendly and more than welcoming. The food was some of the best Thai we have had. Very flavorful and reasonably priced. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful.... More

Downtown Oakland has gotten a bad rap over the years...and while there is an element roaming around in the wee hours, the rest of the day it's a fine place to visit. This is our second time to Siam Bay, and we've enjoyed our meals both times. Having been to Thailand, it is refreshing to see a nod to authentic... More

we get delivery from here frequently. they pass my meat quality test with flying colors, their coconut milk soup and related dishes are WONDERFUL, and the vegetables are fresh and well cooked. if you are a peanut sauce addict, these folks do it perfectly. their green curry dishes, panang curry, and pra-ram chicken are my favorites. fresh and tasty and... Without deviation, my Honey and I go to this restaurant every time we're in OAK! We've dined at many Thai restaurants and know which ones to keep on our A-list, and this is one of them.

We've been coming here since it first opened over 20 years ago. Although we have been to other Thai restaurants around the country, Siam Bay remains our favorite. It has the same authenticity as the food we've eaten in Thailand (a country we've visited several times). Rita, the chef, prepares all her curries from scratch and does not use pre-made... More

Of all the Thai restaurants that I frequent, all over the country, none exceed the food of Siam Bay. The offerings, flavors, textures and attention to detail make this my clear favorite. I can't leave Siam Bay without eating three times what a human should be allowed. I could almost move to Oakland, to enjoy this place on a regular... More
