This is my go to place for hamburgers in Rockridge. I always try to get a different burger. - they must offer over twenty varieties. The sweet potato fries are excellent, nice and crispy. Oh, and did I mention the shakes - thick and creamy. Service is attentive. You won't go wrong here.

We found this place by luck, and I was glad! I was in the mood for some basic american food, and it could not get any better. They have great service! The burgers and fries are just (or better) that homemade! If you are in the mood for a burger and fries, go no further! Barne'ys is your place.

There are several Barney's throughout the east bay. They have a wonderful variety of great burgers and salads. The one on Piedmont Ave. has a very pleasant outdoor seating area (maybe the others do, too--I'm not sure.) I think they only serve Niman Ranch beef. Niman Ranch raises livestock traditionally, humanely and sustainably; it's the only hamburger I'll eat. If... More

Popular, but the burgers are underseasoned, and generally just not particularly good. Try Christopher's Burgers, on College at Broadway for a better meal.

If I have a craving for a burger, this is the first choice. Well prepared, quality ingredients, a diverse menu, pretty good service. The only downside: it's so popular that it can be tough to get a table. Come when you're not starving and prepare to wait.

This was my first visit to Barney's. I thought a burger was a burger, until I came to Barneys. The bacon burger, cheese, onion, lettuce, and tomato was absolutely great. There was a tremendous amount of chopped bacon. The sweet potato fries were exceptional, accompanied by little cups of thousand island and a creamy blue cheese dip were fantastic. My... More

Creative burgers - easily shared between two people and still a lot to eat! I split the Greek burger with a friend - yummy avocado and feta on a pita. Sweet potato fries were among the best I've ever had, and the single was big enough for three to share. Friendly wait staff, and there is a nice outside treed... More

My family and I went to Barney's. A friend told us to order the chili cheese fries appetizer. We were glad that we did. The appetizer was huge, and the 4 of us had plenty of fries. We ordered the Caribbean burger, Popeye burger, California burger, and a salad. All the food was very good. There are so many burgers... More

Had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon while in the area. My wife and I walked in and the place wasn't that busy, strangely it took quite some time just to get someone to get our drink orders. I had the Voodoo burger and my wife had a regular Barney burger with cheese. The burgers were good sized and mine... More

Our whole family loves Barney's. I would recommend a particular burgers but they are all good from the traditional ones like the cheese lovers with three kinds of cheese to the more unique like the Maui waui with pineapple and teriyaki glaze. They also have awesome sweet potato and spicy curly fries. Their shakes are to die for as well.... More
