This place is always packed - Don't wonder why :) The pizza is really good and filling. It does not fall under the Italian pizza specs due to the crust and ingredients, but it sure does taste yummy. My favorite there is the Mediterranean Thin crust. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. It is a bit expensive but it's worth... More

I think their pizza is delicious--it's one of my favorites. And they make the best Caesar salad I've ever had outside of Fior D'Italia (which no longer exists, as far as I can tell). Reasonably priced. It's noisy, but most pizza places are.

We moved last year to Cincinnati and there is no Chicago style pizza here. We are in misery! Zachary's was one of our favorite restaurants ever- the best pizza and the best staff!

Fresh, fun, and delicious. I like the deep dish version. My son loves their slices. I have never eaten pizza in Chicago so I can't judge authenticity, but it is very good pizza.

Not sure what all the hype is about - I find the deep dish pizza too salty and frankly uninteresting...the crust is often too think and soggy - the thin crust pizza is unimaginative...I know that Zachary's has their die-hards, but really? There is much better pizza in Oakland and the Bay Area....and don't get me started on the crowded,... More

Every time I'm in the Bay Area, I make a point of visiting Zachary's. Their deep dish pizza is delicious--with a great tangy sauce filled with chunks of tomato, and delicious fillings (my favorite combo is sausage and black olives). Highly recommended!

This is, of course, not pizza. It is a tomato and cheese casserole. If that's what you're into, that's all they do well. The thin pizza is very unpleasant, with a flavorless crust. I've eaten this stuff many times, always because somebody else just has to go here, or orders it, and it has never impressed me.

Zachary's pizza is a local institution. Their deep dish pizza is delicious. Not for the faint of heart, or meager of appetite, as I have never managed to do other than overeat here. For me, it's now a once a year treat. Best as take out as the place is overwhelmingly noisy, and the wait can be long. Call in... More

I had been to Zac's before 2 years ago so knowing I was going to Oakland area I made a point of calling ahead to order a half-baked that I could take home with me for the drive back to LA. This pizza is so good -delicious sauce-not too sweet with real pieces of roma tomatoes, and the crust is... More

This is a love-hate type of review. Zachary's serves great pizza that I just can't eat any more. The deep dish, ton-of-cheese, thick crust is a wonderful treat, but a real artery-buster. We might come here for a special occasion or with someone who really wants deep dish. But for regular pizza that won't accelerate heart disease, there are a... More
