Dopo is Dope!

For lunch, Dopo is really good. They have large salads, individual pizzas, calzones and focaccia sandwiches. The salads and margherita pizza are excellent.

Weather was nice enough to sit outdoors for dinner without the need of heaters. Paolo cali violino nero red wine was the best part of the meal. Very smooth. Dopo pizza and penne w swordfish and eggplant filled out the meal. Penne was good but seemed a little too salty. Dopo pizza seemed a little spicy. Perhaps we were expecting... More

I found this place to be noisy and way overpriced. The menu is rather limited and in Italian only which required that our waitress explain not only the three levels of antipasti but every other dish as well, including the three pizzas. The salad options were limited to one plate of simple greens, and bread was provided only upon request.... More

We have been to Adesso (on the corner) many times and enjoyed their sliced meats. Finally decided to try the Sicilian food at the sister restaurant just down the road. We really had high hopes, but they were dashed when we tasted several of the red wines before deciding. Thin and pretty boring. Having been in Sicily several times and... More

If you are visiting the Bay Area, this place is a must! I am biased since I am a colleague of the chef/owner's Mom but the food is absolutely fantastic! Being from New Jersey I am also biased when it comes to Italian food so this place will hit the spot if you are craving authentic Italian food. A hot... More

I've been here for lunch and it was good. But dinner today was a huge dissapointment! Maybe they have a different chef during dinner? We spent over $100 for 2 appetizers (salami and crudo), 2 glasses of wine and 2 pastas. I had the penne with shredded sand dabs and zucchini for $19 a plate. It was pretty bad and... More

There are lots of good pizza restarants in the Bay Area, but I have finally identified my two top favorites, one in SF and the other in Oakland. I have fond memories of the excellent pizza pies we enjoyed in my home town in Connecticut only twenty minutes by car from the New York border. Oh, yes, rich red sauce... More
