As you'll read in the other reviews here, Dopo is a small plate style eatery, featuring Italian cuisine. The chef has established a very sound repertoire of selections that change through the seasons, and the menu is firmly grounded in traditional Italian cooking, with an artful Californian flare. Notably, Dopo "travels" around Italy, featuring a Tuesday menu that rotates roughly... More

Low key friendly place but the food was way too salty and we had a long wait for service. Very limited menu. Not to be recommended

OK so there were 5 of us and we ate almost everything on the menu. Which varies daily. This is a small plates place, so don't expect doggie bags. The menu is almost entirely in Italian, which is frustrating because we had to ask what everything was. And don't assume that "lamb's quarters" is meat, it is actually a potatoes-greens... More

The food is excellent- reminded me of the cuisines in Southern Italy, from the vegetable starters to the thin crust pizza and entrees; must not miss their zeppole for dessert! The price is reasonable. I would definitely come back!

Dopo consistently delivers high-quality local ingredients, scrumptious flavors, and simple presentations. The portions aren't huge, but you don't have to eat a lot hear to feel satisfied. Last night we started off with a couple of excellent wines. Bread and butter came quickly. Service was attentive but never rushed; our server always reassured that we had plenty of time. Appetizers.... More

Dopo is a regular haunt because the thin crust pizza is, for me, the best in Oakland. It is thin, crisp, and tasty, and they don't overwhelm the pizza with excessive cheese or sauce. The pizza is excellent and the service is excellent. The reason I don't give it a 5-star rating from me is for a couple of reasons:... More

Dopo is one of my favorite restaurants in the SF bay area. I've been coming here for years and it consistently delivers. Everything feels right; the food, atmosphere, location, staff, etc. Their house-made pasta and salumi is fantastic. This is definitely my go-to place.

Not your usual Italian restaurant. They do have pasta and pizza but it is made with local ingredients in season. The vegetable assortment is different every time and tasty. The 3 year old in our family liked all three choices. We had the raw fish appetizer too. We will be making a return trip the next time we are in... More

I ate here last week with my daughter and grandson. We shared a crostini appetizer which was very tasty but disappointing in that it was so small and only one very small crostini to share. However, the pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese was outstanding and I highly recommend it. I understand that they change their pasta choice every night and... More

Small dish about 17 $ but the taste is fabulous!!! Very creative. I loved the crude lamb meat on figs, the triangles ravioli with kind of great cheese ( don't remember the name) swimming in light butter sauce with small yellow tomato piled out from its shell.
