We went for Ice Cream althought they have a large food menu. They make their ice cream on the premises. Lots of selections and good ice cream
My cousin introduced us to this place since it was the place for UP! the movie. Movies aside....this place has some FANTASTIC ice cream flavors! Holy choices! And let me tell you.....the *small* is plenty for one person! Worth visiting and worth the wait! All kiddos and big kiddos alike get a Fenton's Creamery hat also :D
Had a great burger for lunch the other day. Expect noisy because it's a very kid family place, a birthday party place and a general meeting spot for lots of people. There might be big tables with many people laughing and talking, so if you like quiet don't go. On the other hand, who cares if it's noisy when those... More
We did not go into the dining room, but just bought cones at the to go window late on a Sunday evening. We lucked out and arrived when the line was temporarily very short. They have a good selection of flavors, and a good selection of shakes, sundaes, etc. I found the ice cream delicious, but I am no connoisseur.... More
I have been going to Fentons for decades and it always feels like a treat to eat there. When my children where small, we went there for sundaes. Other times eating out, I would ask to go to Fentons for one of their delicious sandwiches. Then there is always the wonderful option of bringing a pint of their ice-cream home... More
Everyone in our family and extended family loves Fenton's. It always seems to be packed in the evenings. The sandwiches and other food items on the menu are fair to middling; and the ice cream portion of the menu is excellent.
Amazing Sundaes - theses get 5 stars. Consider sharing with a friend unless you are really famished for ice cream! Other foods are ok - nothing special. Service was poor, very disappointing and not like in the "good old days" before the fire.
Fenton's has been in Oakland/Piedmont area for a 100 years. They were only known for the ice cream back in the days, but over the years have added restaurant service. I've only had their various ice creams, and it's the best! Be prepared for a long line on hot summer weekends, but it's worth the wait. It's located on the... More
Nostalgia. Fenton's reminds me of a place we'd go after high school volleyball tournaments in southern California called Farrells, known for a double banana split called "the trough". Fenton's is all about quantity, before we were introduced to Hagen daz and Ben and Jerry's. Now the bar is raised by Tara's and Lush and Ici. Fenton's tastes like food coloring... More
Long waits, noisy, a little sticky in places but the ice cream is really good. We recently took a large party out for my daughter's birthday and were glad we did - the wait is just part of the process.
