Having read all the reviews, f it wasn't for all the photos I would think we must have been to the wrong place for lunch. 2 of our party has the salmon salad which was just a tiny plate of salad leaves with a few flakes of salmon. It would have been a small starter but was billed as a... More

I hope this place doesn't get busier than it is so I can still go and enjoy the food and the people there. It's great to have a place like this in the neighborhood where I don't have to wait two hours for brunch. The food is definitely is rich and not something you should eat everyday. But for those... I went here on a weeknight, but have eaten here at least 4 - 5 times this year. The food is innovative (Asian elements without being fusion if that makes any sense) and great quality. Had the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was heavy, but the mains were superb. The service has always been wonderful and attentive. The challenge... More

This place has all it take to make a killer brunch - an amazing bloody mary, an amazing burger (topped with some slices of beef tongue!), great fried chicken and yummy little doughnuts for dessert.

Walk into this place is like traveling back in time machine to the 50's. We had Oysters and they were so well cleaned and delicious. When I saw beer beer batter fried chicken is on the menu, I just have to break my diet rules and try it. And it was THE BEST fried chicken I've tasted since I left... More

I've eaten here three times in the last few months, and I've really enjoyed the place. It is in a location that was not very good ten years ago, but with the "Oakland Renaissance" it was fine at lunchtime. It helps to have a reservation, because they seem to be very cognizant of the food they need to serve. I... More

This is a charming place with a very interesting menu- creative food with delicious local ingredients. We had a green salad with tasty seeds and a very nice viniagrette (sounds ordinary but it wasn't). The gnocchi dish, the entree, with vegetables was super. The staff was attentive and friendly. We all enjoyed our meal. An Oakland must !!

Food was amazing. Lot of inventive twist on old time favorites like fried chicken and burgers. Bartender is great with a lot of fun drinks

Do not be put off by the scratchy look of the downtown block where Hopscotch is located. The cramped diner vibe is retro, but fab! The fine ingredients of every dish elevate the ordinary-sounding items to a wonderful level of excellence! Nice wine, beer and cocktail selections, too! The service is attentive and friendly. Well worth the trip! to this... More
