Good food, very slow service

Being largely retired, I am not in a hurry. We went to Havens on a weeknight early and it wasn't crowded at all, in fact probably 75% of the tables in the dining room were empty, but we were told we would have to eat in the bar (part of the same large room). We waited 10 minutes +/- to... read more

First, the bar....excellent cocktails and great wine suggestions. The meals were delicious, innovative, and beautifully presented. The service was also fabulous. We've been here four times now and we're coming back for more!

From Sunday thru Thursday, the dinner menu offers a 3 course dinner while Friday and Saturday are 4 courses. The only thing you need to tell the server is what type of beverage you want and if you want the meat or vegetable main entree. The appetizers and side dishes are served family style. The wine menu is on the... More

A local spoke to a chef today and he said they are closed for a vacation, reopening 1/23/15. Earlier this week someone from their sister restaurant Plum said they are "working on a new concept".

OMG- do not question where to go-THIS IS IT! The food is all local and seasonal ,making the menu change often and the tasting adventure different daily. The cocktails were all fashioned, infused and created on site- excellent. The breads and desserts were beautiful as well as delightful. We had several items from the menu and not a one disappointed.... More

Easily accessible by ferry and auto, the restaurant offers good food prepared with quality ingredients at Jack London Square. For the price, portions were small and ambience was lacking. Our meal was $50 per person (excluding alcohol). A16, Wood Tavern and Bellanico are much better values for the $ in the East Bay. The wine list offers a small and... More

I had an early dinner, coming from Europe I ask the very professional and nice staff for a place at the counter of the bar. Just in front of the kitchen, my seat was perfect. I could see a team of passionate chefs working each plate untill perfection. We asked for several treats: the oysters, the pickled sardines on toast,... More

I tried Haven on a Monday night. The restaurant was empty which was a surprise. I was solo so I chose a seat at the kitchen bar which has an open view of the whole kitchen. Great view. The head chef was training a new cook and it was very interesting to watch their technique and precision I had some... More

We had dinner here- craft cocktails, local wine (Dashe Cellars), oysters from Puget Sound, bucatini with brisket ragu, and roasted strawberry (!) ice cream. Every dish was really good, and the staff was on the spot without being intrusive. The area around Jack London Square has a solid lineup of restaurants, and Haven fits right in.

There were three of us. My wife and I and our niece. We're seniors and she is 40. My wife and niece thought it was great...eh, well almost. They liked the small portions and our niece had the bone marrow or something like that. I had the lamb. It was about 3" in diameter and 3/4 fat. They don't have... More
