I love this place for a filling breakfast. They have several good vegetarian options. Love the pancakes and soyrizo scramble.

If you have business, errands or friends in the area, and want a decent breakfast or burger, this is the ticket. It ain't great, nor expectional, but it's done the job in the past, when I had a taping session at Expressions College, or when my wife and I were in the area shopping and were starving. I think I've... More

We were impressed by the menu and decided to have dinner at the Oakland Rudy's location. Just entering the restaurant we were approached by street people for money. The service was good, but the food was just average. The Monday nigh Meatloaf special had no taste and the mashed potatoes were bland. The best part of the meal was the... More

For some comfort food on a cold day, Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe makes the grade. We were looking for a place to eat Downtown near the Fox so we were hungry and ready to eat and ordered the Turkey Burger with Salad, Taco Salad, Macaroni and Cheese and Buffalo chicken salad. All fit the hunger bill except for the Buffalo... More

I went to a conference in Oakland and wanted to try one of Guy Fieri's picks. The service was fast and the food was really good. I got a breakfast burrito that was really delicious and it only cost $5. I also had 1/2 a slice of French toast that was perfectly prepared. I want to go back again before... More

Sit at the bar,sit a table-fast service either way. Food comes out hot and in generous sized portions. Menu has something for every one..specials of the day are great. Try the Shakin' Jesse- it could be a meal in itself.

My husband and I ate breakfast here 2 mornings during our 2 week stay in Oakland. The café was reviewed by Guy Fieri on "Diners, Drive-in's and Dive's" so we were curious. Guy actually reviewed their 1st location in Emeryville - this is their second location and in a great spot - right next door to the Fox Theater in... More

Went for a morning walk from our hotel looking for breakfast and stumbled upon this place. It will be added to our list of places to return to. I had a southwest omelette and was very happy to sub soyrizo for meaty chorizo (I'm not vegetarian but prefer it since it doesn't have any mystery bits). --super friendly staff, great... More

wonderful staff, very nice. Fabulous merch aswell. We only went as we know the owner is Mike Dirnt of 'Green Day', but had an amazing time. The barmaid Heather was very good to us. It was very clean, not commercial (away from tourists despite us being tourists), the food was priced well and we had a good experience. We enjoyed... More
