An email left on their web site garnered no response. We weren't surprised because while the service was very professional, it had a frosty feel with winds up to arrogance. The fixed menu last Friday night was interesting, and we thought, very tasty. The distinguishing items for the three affected of us were some roe on top on one presentation,... More

Ate here on Nov 15/14 with one other person. We had a 12 course meal, with Montrachet followed by a Willamette Valley Pinot. Every course was beautifully prepared and presented. Service was prompt without being fussy. Portions were small, as is befitting a 12 course meal, five of which involved fish or seafood. The highlight for me was the smoked... More

A bit pretentious? Sure. But still, the food flavors do dance in your mouth. Come expecting a high foodie experience: expensive, many courses, tiny portions and delicate flavors to be savored. I wouldn't consider Commis a place for a casual, comfortable dinner on a regular evening. Save this place for a special occasion.

Commis does nothing wrong, and that's a miracle, because they take real chances. Or maybe not a miracle, but just plain honest skill in the forager and kitchen. We love the fact that we don't have to choose--they offer prix fixe with wines, and we just get to eat and drink, no decisions necessary. We had eleven courses and 10... More

We had heard a lot about this restaurant and visited with fiends who also wanted to try this concept. One of our member cannot eat fish, so a slightly different version of some items were prepared and served. Although each item was prepared and served well, I just couldn't understand why we were given 2 very large chunks of bread... More

I had a reservation of Friday, September 26th for 4 people. Their reservationist called Wednesday at noon and I told him I was not well and wasn't sure if I could make it but would call back later. He left a number which I called many times, and let it ring 20 times, but no one answered and there was... More

Nice decor, low light, low volume music so that it is easy to carry a conversation. Ample space between the tables. Tasting menu only, with or without wine pairings. That is what I like best as you get to eat what the chef really wants to cook. Menu changes frequently, so no printed menu. A bit of an issue when... More

Pricy but worth it. It is a prix fixee menu so your ordering option is whether you want to add the wine sampler or order your own. Each course is prepared separately and can be modified for food allergies. The food is excellent; each dish is like a piece of jewelry on display. There is little time wasted between courses... Eating at Commis was such an experience! They take food, wine & service to another level of dining. Few restaurants are at this level. Very creative, beautifully presented food. Might seem expensive but it's well worth the money to have this type of dining experience & food. Everyone there performed at the highest level of service. The sommelier was so... More

Flavors, presentation, service were perfect. Ingredients were interesting and fresh. Nothing overworked. Sat at the chef counter and ended up having 11 courses! Such fun!!
