Very refined food. Beautiful presentation. Excellent service. A very special meal. Not cheap but surely a place we will come back to for special occasions.

we both thought all of the 9 or 10 courses were very good to excellent. a lot of imagination shown. very small restaurant with ok atmosphere. prix fixe set menu is $95.very professional service. first rate sommelier with a good wine list for such a small place.$25 corkage. count on 3 hours. the criticism made by other reviewers about quantity... This place reaches a whole new level of pretension. Our extravagant gift certificate afforded us 10 courses and left us hungry at the end. We are used to foodie restaurants, but this isn't so much a restaurant as it is a place of worship: you're expected to treat the food with reverence. You can eat it, too, of course, but... More

My girlfriend and I ate here for our anniversary. We sat at the counter and watched the chefs work. Extremely professional and clean. Everything was seasoned properly and I thought the wine pairings complemented the food well. I have to mention the soft cooked egg yolk with potato and caviar, because I'll never forget it. The tasting menu, which is... More

Commis only has about 6 tables. You have to reserve a while in advance. They only offer a multi-course prix fix menu. They will substitute for preference and allergy, but that is it. They avoid the most absurd "molecular" nonsense in favor of excellent ingredients creatively and well prepared. The beverage pairings are thoughtful, and unusual. This is an excellent... More

The food here is truly a work of art. The chefs take great care to present the dishes as works of art to be enjoyed visually while still tasting delicious. If you are looking for a big meal or looking to be full this may not be the place for you. There are 12 courses but the portions are small... More

One if the most stunning meals our family of four has enjoyed. Didn't miss a beat through 7 perfectly balanced courses. We all loved it.

My wife and I had the $85 set menu with wine pairings for our anniversary. As others have said, it's an experience but we would not return. There were eight courses plus a couple of hors d' oeuvres and a palate float before dessert or cheese. The first four courses were delicious with the wine, however they consisted of one... More

Went to Commis after having an unforgettable meal at Meadowood, and would have to say that for the tremendous difference in price between the two, this is a real find! We sat at the Chef's table (highly recommended, only six seats), and watched the team of about six chefs orchestrate the evening meal for everyone - often with the aid... More

Enjoyed the chef's table last night. The establishment is set up in a manner that allows the patrons to experience the food preparation. Watching the "attention-to-detail" that goes into each meticulously presented dish ads to the setting. Note to self you DO NOT have to drink all the wine associated w/ each dish. It reminds me of Grant Achatz’s Alinea... More
