We visited on a Saturday night when they had a show with about 10 up-and-coming comedians in the dining and showroom upstairs. Intimate setting, friendly audience, professional comics and had a blast. Food was very good and unusual in a fusion Asian way. Also within easy walking distance of Bart subway.

The staff, service and food was outstanding! Located in downtown Oakland we took a table outside on the street for lunch. I had a grilled chicken wrap that was seasoned like no other! Excellent restaurant for a lunch stop in the Bay area!

This place is unique in that it has a Mexican fountain in the middle of the dining room and feels like being in another country. The bar is friendly and the servers are too. I had the Asian tacos and, like many other reviewers have said, they were tasty and different from anything I have had before. The cocktails were... More

Enjoyed dinner with friends who knew the place. Very interesting menu without being intimidating. If the place was busy, it might feel crowded...not much of a problem on a Monday night when we visited. Had a Shepard's pie that was quite satisfying. Pricing in the upper half of downtown restaurants, yet reasonable. Great service. Nice drink menu.

After reading reviews of this restaurant, I decided to drop by on a weekday evening. An early dinner, I was the only person there. I asked for the Asian Tacos - "sorry, we are out of them today". OK, so how about the Flying Noodles? "sorry, we are out of them today". A bit frustrating. I ended up with the... More

My friends recommended this cafe to us, so we tried and not disappointed at all. The seating arrangement a bit crowded, but it was okay. I ordered ramen (since I missed my home so much) and it was very tasty! They have various of menu, and the monkey potato is one of their specialty.

Had a great family dinner there. Nice table upstairs for our large party. Had a gluteen free menu with many options and a good variety for everyone else.

We originally went here because we had a brunch coupon and we enjoyed our meal. We decided we wanted to come back for dinner sometime. My husband ended up having my surprise 40th birthday party here. I had a great time. The staff is very nice and friendly and the food was great too! We will be going back to... More

This is a casual café and restaurant near Oakland’s downtown, Chinatown, and Uptown neighborhoods. The food is excellent with the menu consisting of a few entrée size dishes and a number of tapas. Our entrees included the chicken pot pie and the Sherpa d’pie (yes, that is the correct spelling.) Spiced Monkey’s version of this dish is whole chuck, chunky... More

I came to this restaurant via an online coupon deal for brunch, and oh, how I wish I had ordered more! Eclectic menu bursting with flavor....and although I am not generally a potato fan, I dream of having more of their smashed potatoes. I read other reviews that mentioned poor service, but didn't experience that at all. If I was... More
