Food is balanced, well presented, flavorful. Combinations are new, with seasonal mix predominating. Every time the meals have been really savory and pleasing. The chef's experience shows.

Not a lot to tempt me on the menu, but I opted for the pork with sausage, which I enjoyed. Food contains lots of herbs and chilies. Supper, with wine, for four adults worked out at $340 which I felt was rather expensive.

We really enjoyed our meal at Camino, run by Chez Panisse graduates in Oakland. It's in an area that is away from the main commercial part of Grand Ave, so quiet. The seating is open as seems to be the fashion now, with some super long tables for groups or sharing. Not my favorite, but we had no problem getting... More

Went for brunch with the in-laws. The environment was very nice and we were impressed that the chef cooked everything on the fire. The menu was very limited and even though we love to try new flavors, the descriptions sounded overworked and it was hard to understand what you were going to get. The food was alright, but we were... More

Not sure if it was the day or what, but this menu didn't interest me at all. Maybe this is very Mexican and I'm just clueless, but it seemed to be trying too hard to be different & expensive. I asked the waiter if he'd like to tell us anything about it hoping he'd tell us what they are known... More

We were with friends who had a baby with them and there were no facilities in the bathroom to change him. The manager told us with a straight face to change him on the floor of the toilet! Needless to say we will not be back....

Camino offers a small but exquisite menu. Their drinks list offers some delicious cocktails and an excellent selection of wines (by the glass and by the bottle). The atmosphere is pleasant and understated, with long communal wooden tables, a semi-open kitchen, and dimmed lighting. The service is likewise understated and perhaps a bit more so than we expected. Our server... More

Camino brings thoughtful, elegantly prepared food to Oakland. They specialize in wood fire cooking. Their menu is select, but choice. Some parts change to keep pace with foods of the seasons, with some standard offerings, which gratefully do not change -- like the Tunisian orange cake. The room itself is warm and welcoming, with two enormous, long tables, each made... More

the menu is not big, so be sure they have something you like. The food was okay, I won't rush back. It just wasn't that interesting. The service was marginal.
