great sit down family restaurant with friendly staff & awesome owner( he always stops by the table to say hi when we are there). chips and salsa are the best and you can even order the non spicy salsa. I have even come up with my own creation menu item there and i am waiting for tony to add it... More

El Cid has always been a mountain staple, a place to meet and greet and grab a bite. Service is always good. It can often busy, so allow for extra time if you see that the parking lot is packed (and it often is), The food is consistently the same so there are no surprises. It's a bit bland for... More

I had the standard taco and enchilada, the taco was sopping wet from the beef from something like beef in green Chile rather than shredded beef, the rice was mushy and the beans tasted like those from a can. My husband ordered carnitas which were made from a poor cut of meat, he complained and complained as he tried to... More

A friend of mine took me to this mexican restaurant for lunch. Looked nice on the outside but inside it had a dowdy uninteresting look to it. And it was quite dark. The waitress took us outside onto the covered patio and left us with a menu. She didn't come back for half an hour which annoyed me. Our order... More

Local patronage is often a guide to good places when one is traveling, and this place packs in the local diners. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. At first glance, the prices look elevated a bit, but the portions are generous enough to share, making the prices quite reasonable. Prepare to have a good time and a... More

The food was well prepared and hot. Our waitress was not very attentive (forgot requests, waited on refills, etc.) but it wasn't a big deal. The prices seemed high for what was offered. The food tasted more "Tex-Mex" than authentic Mexican food. We had simple taco dinner and it was just average. There weren't a whole lot of options in... More

When recommended by the woman at the reception we went there. The nachos and the salsa was nice but the entrée was messed up with sauce. Also too high prices.

I really liked their albondigas soup and chile relleno. Their enchiladas, rice, beans, chips and salsa were also very good.

This family-run restaurant has been consistent and provided excellent cuisine and service for over 20 years (maybe longer?). It's great to see the restaurant expand over the past few years. A testament to good food, drinks and customer service. If your a Yosemite visitor on the south entrance, you'll great a great meal here for excellent value!
