El Cid is the best Mexican food in the area, including Fresno! We love EL CID! Tony is the best. It's consistently awesome! The food is the best and the Margaritas will kick your butt! My favorite is the Chile verde burrito. Yummy! We've been going there for over 25 years and have never had a bad meal. It's busy... More

I've been there many, many times over the almost 40 years I've lived here. Food is fair. Nothing to get excited abt. The place has been updated, which was sorely needed... I rated the value as poor because I have been charged almost $9. for nachos. And they were very plain.

We are from Texas and we know our mexican food. This place was good but not great. The waitress we had was slow and they couldn't figure out which waitress was in charge of our table. We chose it mainly for the location. It was convenient and near our hotel. Next time we go to Yosemite and stay in Oakhurst... More

During a 3 day visit to the area, we noticed that the parking lot for El Cid's was always full. Based on that observation we stopped in for lunch. The staff was attentive and the view of the cactus garden was lovely. However, the food was so blah that it was virtually tasteless. My husband asked for a leftover box... More

Good Mexican food is a given in California. El Cid doesn't disappoint. It is very conveniently located on the eastern edge of town just before you start your climb toward the South gate of Yosemite some 15 miles up the hill. The service is fast and friendly. Warm chips and hot salsa were placed on the table almost as soon... More

We stopped on our way back from skiing in Yosemite to celebrate my 9 year old granddaughters 9th birthday. We have been eating at El Cid's since here dad was younger than that, ever since they opened in Oakhurst, before that we use to go to the one in Fresno. I won't say the food was bad just not what... Large room restaurant on the road to Yosemite from Oakhurst. We were seated close to large windows with a view of the cactus garden and numerous birds that are attracted to a bird feeder. The chips were great but salsa too spicy for me so they brought a plain salsa with no taste....My tostado was all lettuce, pulled beef and... More

My wife and I are locals and usually are at El Cid 3-4 times a month. Good food, good people and Tony (the owner) is good to us. Prices are reasonable and the place is great!!
