We wanted different food than they offered at Tenaya lodge so went down the road to El Cid. Nothing fabulous about it just good Mexican food. They even made me a special drink upon request so friendly and accommodating!

I ended up with a combo plate because their website didn't show prices and all the seafood dishes were expensive. Food was above average and atmosphere was nice.

This restaurant was recommended by a local; however, we found the lunch prices high for the taste and service received. We didn’t go away hungry though; we were served a large portion and could have shared one plate. We weren’t too happy with the taste of the food; we expected better for the price. The restaurant was crowded and we... More

Stopped in Oakhurst on ride between Yosemite and Sequoia NPs. El Cid was a delicious choice for very good Mexican cuisine. Chips and salsa tasted homemade. Burritos were delicious, with large amounts of beans and Spanish rice. All dishes were large. Service was fast and friendly; atmosphere as expected, prices reasonable..

Nice atmosphere however the food was very average and not what we would call authentic cuisine. The service was satisfactory however it felt like it was a feed them and move them out

I liked the food, clean restaurant. Although the staff was friendly, they were a little distracted. Overall a great experience.

We stopped in for dinner on the way to an evening at Yosemite. We heard this was good food--we agree! Great Margaritas too. The atmosphere is homey and the food was fresh and very tasty. We at on the enclosed back patio and watched hummingbirds flying all over. We had traditional Mexican fare--tacos, carne asada, enchiladas. All were great. The... More
