Great Service, Food OK

We went to Yosemite at 4:30am to shoot the sunrise, headed back to Oakhurst about 9:00am looking for somewhere to have breakfast. The first place we stopped was a coffee shop with a very limited menu, the guy working there suggested Katie's since we were looking for a diner. No one checked the... read more

Great atmosphere...very cozy and "country". Food was great, if you don't like typical greasy link sausage I recommend trying the Linguice (sp?), and make sure you try the home made jelly! Service was super friendly and it was very affordable.

Don't let the somewhat tired and cheesy decorations dissuade you. We had an excellent lunch and breakfast here on 2 occasions. The coffee is excellent. The owner is very friendly and hard working. The homemade peanut brittle is excellent. I hope they can make a much needed facelift in the near future.

There were 7 of us that ate breakfast here almost every morning for the 5 days we stayed near Yosemite over Thanksgiving weekend. The service was terrific, the food was very good and the portions filled us all. Considering 2 teenage boys and a 6 yr old granddaughter ate all their food and wanted to return we knew we had... well I generally do not give negatives to a local cafe, but today I experienced very poor service as well as the food. The special was Eggs Benedict with hash brown, it was served with cold gritty holidases sauce with a very thin ham deli piece of meat. Oh, the service was none existence and the check was given before... More

This was our 2nd visit to Katie's Country Kitchen. We were referred to Katie's and haven't looked back. The restaurant has great food and service, sells a variety of artwork, homemade jams, and some of the best peanut brittle my wife has ever tasted. As a matter of fact, my wife on our first visit to Katie's purchased some of... More

We went for breakfast. There were a few other diners and a couple of old timers watching the TV. The service was great and there was plenty of chat with the locals. Excellent prices and lots of local chutneys etc for sale. A 'Real' American diner.

There is nothing fancy about Katie's Country Kitchen. We have only ever had breakfast there so I cannot speak about lunch and dinner. I can say that, every time we walk in, we know that we will get what we expect- fresh eggs done right, yummy hash browns, great coffee, portions that fill us up and money leftover in my... More
