A nice place for a special occasion

My boyfriend and I ended up celebrating 8 years together in Oakhurst during our roadtrip through California, and we were kind of settled on the idea of not doing any fine dining at all, since we did not plan to be anywhere specific on the date. Luckily the small city of Oakhurst had a nice chateau... read more

The food and service at Erna's is fabulous. We just had an incredible dinner there. On the table was a special menu, with our name on it, designed just for us with our food restrictions in mind. Each of the many courses was beautiful and delicious. The service was impeccable without being pretentious. While the European style dinning room does... More

An excellent experience. Each selection was beautifully plated and included an enticing blend of flavors and textures. The wonderful wine selection and quality service created a meal to remember.

Our food was nice, the service was fairly good and the evening overall was most enjoyable and memorable for the right reasons. However I cannot rate it excellent because at the price ($108 per head for food alone) and the restaurant's aspiration, it is "off the ball" in various minor but telling ways. Examples: food was just a bit too... More

Erna's Elderberry House is a five star restaurant. It has a European old world ambiance, quiet, elegant and special. The food is thoughtfully plated so that you will enjoy each item on your plate. Quality wines in abundance. Fountains outside. The holidays are especially notable with twinkling lights to greet you at the entrance and special items offered for your... More

An amazing dining experience from start to finish. Wonderful and personable wait staff who knew how to describe each course as they brought it to the table. Great wine pairing with each course. The food was world class. Unimaginably creative and delicious! A small quiet atmosphere where your 6 course meal is meant to be enjoyed and experienced for over... More

Erna's is amazing! The food is exquisite. Delicious, perfectly prepared and presented, well crafted courses paired with excellent wines. The decor is elegant, but not pretentious. You feel like royalty. The service is attentive, polite, and friendly. It's a fancy dining experience that doesn't feel oppressive or dour. You feel like an explorer discovering gold when you come across this... More

This is one of those places that can't be put into words; just have dinner here if you're anywhere within 500 miles of Oakhurst. The restaurant doesn't belong in such a blue collar town, would would right at home alongside any restaurant in the country. It's an expensive, fixed menu, but the chef has command of the kitchen, and I'd... More

Very, very expensive here. The food is really good actually, but the cost is a rip off. I think Erns has thr game sown il though as she is the only fine dining in town.

Do not miss the opportunity to dine at Erna's. My wife and I just returned from 2 weeks in France and dined at Michelin one and two starred restruants. Erna's can hold their own with the best of them. Go to France and you will see what a bargin Erna's 5 course price fixe menu is. You won't find a... More
