Good food in an alpine setting

We went there twice during our time in Yosemite/ Fish Camp. The service is good as is the food quality. DO not expect fine dining, but that is not what one is coming there for anyway. We think it is good value for money and much better than other choices in Fish Camp.

Had visitor from Germany and took them there for a birthday dinner. They loved it and that is what they wanted to see as a "American back in the day" building. Woody is a wonderful chef and all 3 of us had a different meal and loved it. It was a great portion as well. Thank you to Ted and... More

Went here on my 32nd wedding anniversary -- first time at Sierra Sky Ranch in 40 years. It's a nice rustic atmosphere with soft "cowboy" music playing in the background. The first issue was that the green beans, advertised as "served with seasonal vegetable or green beans" on every entree, were unavailable. Although the seasonal vegetable of parmesan zucchini was... I came with a group of paranormal investigators to SSR. We picked our main course ahead of time as the kitchen staff was severely undermanned and with advance notice it was hoped that the dining experience would be smoother. My choice read "porkloin with peach brandy." I got anemic pork chops. Ugh. No thank you. I got the green beans... More

This is the place I take out of town guests. It is a rustic setting, western style, and the food is great. Ted, your host, is gracious and makes you feel that you belong there. To the locals, this is Sierra sky ranch. The hotel is not bad either.

We travelled over the west coast... and it was the best dinner we had. Nicelly cooked and the service was great. Really really good wine : salmon... cabernet sauvignon. The place is beautifull. We are french and trust us it's a good place !!!

We didn't dine in. Ordered food to go. The restaurant was very quiet at 7pm on a Saturday night. We ordered their weekend special, the smoked prime rib and chicken fried steak. We are happy with our meals. The prime rib was tender and juicy. Chicken fried steak has a crunch even under the gravy and meat was still juicy.... More

The new menu is terrific. The ribs are the best I have ever had. The stroganoff was excellent, as was the service. We have eaten here several times and have always been pleased, but this evening was the best. Add in that the setting is old country lodge and it is a place not to miss if you are in... More

Ate here while on vacation and had a horrible experience. The staff had recommended the new chef's "Red Eye Chicken" when we called to make dinner reservations. My family was welcomed and seated quickly upon arrival. Everything went downhill from here. The chef's specialty was not available - on opening night! Orders were taken - bread and tea were brought... More

This restaurant/grill is too crowded and that ruined my experience right off the start! Way too small and cramped. I did not like the way they have to take orders, or how you stand in line. I almost left. There is a lot of sandwiches, an the BBQ choice is limited. The ribs were not tender, and only so so.... More
