Absolutely Can't Beat The Food, But ...

The secret for locals is to call in orders to-go. If you're visiting the area, choose a picnic spot (such as the picnic benches at Laetitia Winery, or at your hotel). You don't have to deal with getting a reservation, and long waits even if you have a reservation. Jocko's is all about the food... read more

We went here with friends for dinner. If you are from out of town then make sure you get a reservation to eat here. Even with reservations you will be waiting a little while. The service was great! The steak was amazing. I wish the salad was not made from iceberg lettuce, but the steak made up for it. This... More

After driving up the 101, I decided to stop here to see what the fuss was about, this place looks like a truck stop. It is a dark and dingy place. The service was slow, even when there was barely any customers. The sandwich I received looked to be old slices of re-heated tri-tip that was sitting in the back... More

Absolutely mouth watering and incredibly the best steak I have eaten anywhere! I have traveled all over the world. The smokey flavor of the mesquite in concert with the local red oak give the meat an unmistaken flavor unique the steaks seved at Jockos. They are superior to all others! Cooked perfectly, juicy which melt in your mouth. Tender and... More

We have driven by Nipomo so many times and did not stop at Jockos. We decided this trip to take the plunge. Over 30 years ago we visited Jocko's but could not afford the streak. This time we decided to go for broke! We were suprissed to see the menu was very reasonable and we both ordered the "small" rib... More

Jocko's is a central California coast institution. Steak reigns supreme here and has done so for over a century. Just don't expect fancy frills. But if you are searching for the most flavorful, tender, juicy steak of your life, come to Jocko's and order a filet that will feed you for three days. Not sure what they do to them... More

This is the best steak for the money, bar none. The choice, aged steaks cooked over a red oak fire can't be beat. The decor is a dive, don't expect any frills. The wait is terrible and they don't care so go early.

I have lived in the area for about three years and everyone told me try Jockos'. Friends from out of town wanted to go there. It's like walking into the 50's. Don't worry about your dress anything goes here. There is always a wait so be prepared for 20-30 minutes. Bring your appetite. You start with a great relish tray... More

Doesn't get any better than this! Ribs, chops, steaks, bar. Simply the BEST!!! We were concerned about ribs served without BBQ sauce. They were right! No sauce needed on these ribs. Everything cooked to perfection. Complimentary relish tray is SO good. Always worth the wait (or get the order to go) if you're in a hurry. You will never have... More

Jocko's is a great place for some good BBQ. If you come late you will have a long wait so get your group together and get there when the doors open.
