Worth the wait

Be prepared to wait because it is always busy but so worth it. If you want brekky give yourself extra time or you might miss it and have to get lunch. I never had the lunch but both breakfast and dinner are delicious.

The Beachcomber Restaurant at Crystal Cove is a hidden gem with an uninterrupted front row view of the blue Pacific Ocean. I think early morning is the best time to walk down the canyon from the parking lot which is located on the inland side of Pacific Coast Hwy. A charming van is also available for those with walking difficulties.... More

I say 4 1/2 stars because this little restaurant on the shores of the Pacific ocean in Newport Beach is fantastic. This morning unfortunately our waitress maybe just didn't have her cup of coffee and was a little grouchy to start the morning. Otherwise it's a destination you should try. My wife had the huevos rancheros I had the breakfast... More

Everything you order will be enjoyed. Great food, and service and you will love the ambience - open patio on the beach in Crystal Cove.

This is a great place for a casual fun lunch. It is in the historic area and right on the beach! Food was terrific. We had the clam chowder and Thai Shrimp Salad. Both were very good.

We were staying across the street at the Marriott Newport Beach Villas and took their shuttle down to Crystal Cove State Park to have breakfast at the Beachcomber. I had read the reviews and was afraid that we would have to wait a while for a table. Luckily there was no wait and we were seated right away on the... More

We went in the winter so the ambiance was not quite the same as I'm sure it is in the summer, but the food was excellent. Everything we ordered was excellent and the table next to us also commented there food and drinks were amazing. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you might order. BTW, you can... More

Reservations are highly recommended, as this is a very popular spot. Open Table has been handling the reservations. The food is very good, but it is the location that puts it over the top. If you are waiting for a table, you can wander around the front of the historic beachfront Cottages, many undergoing restoration (so you can return to... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. We just had appetizers and drinks but the service and quality were both excellent. We would recommend stopping by when anyone is in the area. The only downside is that you have to take a shuttle from a parking lot on the highway. It only costs a dollar per person each way, so not a... More

They usually overestimate how long the wait will be for a table but whatever it is, it's always worth it. Great venue and try the calamari with roasted cashews, scallions and kung pao sauce.
