This places doesn't even try

I rarely use Groupons- but otherwise I would have never found this place. My question is- why does a restaurant even have a Groupon promotion if they are not going to use it to try and win over a potential frequent customer? My family and I visit Newport beach at the beginning of every summer. Each year we make a point to try at least one new restaurant (because we have our usual favorites). THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING! I found a coupon on groupon that gave us some discounted entrees so figured we didnt have much to lose. We walked into the... More

The Owner/Manager walks around, unprofessionally, in sandals and looks disheveled, unshaven, fat and dirty. Management is always top down and this is proof of that axiom. The food is marginal to poor, on a very good day. It felt as if we were being served food by Bedouins. I didn't realize it would be an "ethnic" dining experience direct from... More

We have stayed in Corona Del Mar on vacation the past 4 years. We were told of the Port Restaurant and bar last year and made a couple of visits and enjoyed it. We returned again this year and found it as warm, friendly and just a great place to hang out. Coming from England one of the great joys of... More

Loud, poor service, ignored request (which was possible) for a quieter table; we were seated next to a table for 40. Food was adequate but not worth the effort in this area. Would not return.

We had not heard of this restaurant before and we have lived in HB for 24 years. The ambiance is hip and laid back and a bit European. The menu is eclectic with Mediteranean a prime choice. We had Salmon Kabob and Steak/Beef Kabob. The food was delicious, the service unhurried, and the wine nice. Expect to pay Newport Beach... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at the Port. It was early on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated in front of the fireplace which was very nice, warm but not too hot. We shared the hummus and still had plenty to take home. My wife had lobster ravioli and I had... More

Great spicy shrimp app, wonderful portobello ravioli with pink sauce, average salmon. Good wine but it wasn't cold enough so we had to wait while it sat on an ice bath. The host was awkward and made us move after seating us but our server Ava was great!

We had dinner this evening, six people, 3 adults 3 kids. Food was interesting and very fresh. The eggplant dip and hummus were great, chicken kabobs, shrimp kabobs and filet and shish kabob were excellent. All sides were really fresh and the food for the kids was fine. Service was a bit slow for a restaurant that was not even... More
