Friendly Service!

We ate at Sol Grill two times during our recent stay at Newport Beach. The first time we were with a family group that included a 5-year-old child and there was something on the menu for everyone! The second time, we arrived in time for the Early Bird Special Menu--it was quite a deal! A... read more

We have been eating out every night in Newport and wanted to stay in and still eat well. My husband noticed the little restaurant across the way had a takeout sign in the window and so we called in an order. What a great meal we just had! Meatball starter, bread, huge servings of chicken pesto, bbq chicken and Dijon... More

The food here is amazing and some of the best food items I have had in all of LA, but the entire reason I gave it 3 stars is the service. I always keep a timer running from the time I order to the time I get. My appetizer took 45 minutes to come and my food took an hour... More

I can't think of a time I ever had a meal I didn't LOVE at Sol Grill. Sounds like a paid endorsement, I know. We hadn't been to Sol in a while and we're looking for a good restaurant for a double date that wouldn't break the bank (not so easy to do in Newport). The meatballs were out of... More

The parking situation is a bit of a pain, however, once this was settled we walked into a gorgeous, though tiny restaurant. My companion had her heart set on the meatballs as an appetizer, and I'm a fan of cheesy garlic bread. Together, they were amazing. Flat out the best meatballs I've had in an eternity. The service (provided, possibly... More

The restaurant is located right by the pier. It is small, but we had a reservation and had no touble getting in, although it filled up completely while we were there. The food was really tasty, my steak was cooked perfectly. It was a little dark inside and when we got out bread there were only three pieces for five... More

I found this small little restaurant near Newport Pier and was delighted with everything about it. The restaurant is small, but great food and ambiance. There is often live music by a guitar playing singer to add to the experience. The bread is baked fresh, which is always a plus when dining out, and served with olive oil for dipping.... More

Fairly near the start of the Balboa peninsula (21st St), you'll find this small restaurant next door to a hopping bar scene. But, it's in a world of its own - food heaven! That may be a bit premature to say after only one visit, but we were 3-for-3 on absolutely outstanding dishes. The cioppino was the best I've had... More

Got a recommendation from the locals to check this place out . It is good to make a reservation because seating is limited . We went and Misty was able to seat is within 30 minutes. Excellent lobster ravioli and great California wine selection . This is a must stop if your in the Newport Beach area.

This place was recommended by a local we met in the airport in Houston. The atmosphere was great, but the food was just so so. Had Mexican food the next day at our conference hotel and it was much better, loved the beer marguerita
