My family and I had ridden past this little restaurant a million times on our bikes, always saying "gee we shoudl try that sometime". Well, we should have tried it sooner, as it is excellent. Great ambience, great service and very tasty food.

If you're into french Bistro food and are in the Newport Beach area, there's no other place to go than to Pescadou. I'm an international traveler based in NYC and have been going to some nice french bistros such as Chez George in Paris and Balthazar in NYC throughout the years and I think that Pescadou is up there with... Not our first time here BUT first time I've been moved enough to give an opinion. THIS IS THE BEST MEAL MY FAMILY HAS EVER EATEN IN THE UNITED STATES. honest. Returned to the restaurant twice during our visit to SoCal. If food is more important than ambience, go. go now. go with friends. go with family. go by yourself.... More

I come here about once a year when visiting family. I have never been disappointed. The meals range from "good" to "awesome." On our latest visited we had the prix fixe and everyone in the party was delighted with their meal. Others have complained about slow service--we did not experience this, but the pace was that which you might experience... More

Wonderful experience - we booked a table but got delayed in LA traffic - not a bother to Pescadou - they accommodated all our eccentric tastes and the food and service was exceptional

Beautiful, but comfortable, restaurant with traditional French fare prepared with love. Owners, Jacques and Olga, consistently create delicious food, reasonably priced, and beautifully executed. They also have reasonable corkage fees plus a decent wine list - also reasonably priced. New "no corkage" policy on Wednesdays which is a nice treat for those who prefer to bring their own wines. The... More

Went back here to the old reliable French restaurant and Jacques did not disappoint. The menu had a great selection of various dishes that we all wanted to try out. Starting with escargot and merguez then followed with lamb chops, trout amandine and beef bourguignon, Rounding it out with their fabulous desserts. Food was just like in France. Service was... More

We have eaten at this restaurant once a year for the last 5 years or so when visiting Newport Beach. The food and service are consistently great. I had the asparagus soup and duck and my wife had the pate and steak. All was wonderful.

Great French bistro with traditional dishes such as moules frites (mussels with french fries), escargots, duck breast, chicken dijonaise. The french fries are to die for, with truffle oil I think. Escargots are just garlicy enough and properly cooked so soft and not rubbery. Duck breast was cooked perfectly med rare, with a peppercorn sauce. Lamb chops were also excellent,... More

Would definitely return to this lovely French Bistro. Service was wonderful when we were the only party at 5pm on a Sunday, but when restaurant filled to capacity with the same one waiter and one assistant, we were all but forgotten. I hope someone was out sick, because the good was delightful. I especially loved the escargot, endive salad and... More
