Was attending a conference in Newport Beach this past week and while Newport has some wonderful restaurants, this one caught our eye. You might miss it as you ride by - it's kind of in a strip mall off the main street - but once you go inside, you are transported into a French Bistro that could very well be... More

My husband and I dined there tonight. The owner, Jaques greater us and came by our table a few time to see how we were doing and if everything was okay. Our waiter Marco added to the experience as he was from Paris. There was also a delightful waitress but I didn't get her name. Not once during the evening were we... More

My family and I had ridden past this little restaurant a million times on our bikes, always saying "gee we shoudl try that sometime". Well, we should have tried it sooner, as it is excellent. Great ambience, great service and very tasty food.

If you're into french Bistro food and are in the Newport Beach area, there's no other place to go than to Pescadou. I'm an international traveler based in NYC and have been going to some nice french bistros such as Chez George in Paris and Balthazar in NYC throughout the years and I think that Pescadou is up there with... Not our first time here BUT first time I've been moved enough to give an opinion. THIS IS THE BEST MEAL MY FAMILY HAS EVER EATEN IN THE UNITED STATES. honest. Returned to the restaurant twice during our visit to SoCal. If food is more important than ambience, go. go now. go with friends. go with family. go by yourself.... More

I come here about once a year when visiting family. I have never been disappointed. The meals range from "good" to "awesome." On our latest visited we had the prix fixe and everyone in the party was delighted with their meal. Others have complained about slow service--we did not experience this, but the pace was that which you might experience... More

Wonderful experience - we booked a table but got delayed in LA traffic - not a bother to Pescadou - they accommodated all our eccentric tastes and the food and service was exceptional

Beautiful, but comfortable, restaurant with traditional French fare prepared with love. Owners, Jacques and Olga, consistently create delicious food, reasonably priced, and beautifully executed. They also have reasonable corkage fees plus a decent wine list - also reasonably priced. New "no corkage" policy on Wednesdays which is a nice treat for those who prefer to bring their own wines. Went back here to the old reliable French restaurant and Jacques did not disappoint. The menu had a great selection of various dishes that we all wanted to try out. Starting with escargot and merguez then followed with lamb chops, trout amandine and beef bourguignon, Rounding it out with their fabulous desserts. Food was just like in France. Service was... More

We have eaten at this restaurant once a year for the last 5 years or so when visiting Newport Beach. The food and service are consistently great. I had the asparagus soup and duck and my wife had the pate and steak. All was wonderful.
