At this price point, a very good option

This is a very nice, quaint, French Swiss restaurant. The looks of the outside and even inside are rather dull and plain. The service was ok. We got the fixed price menu which was very reasonable $39 for 3 courses. We started with French onion soup and the sausage platter, which were both very... read more

We visited Pescadou for dinner several times several years ago and were disappointed that the duck breast and lamb chops we ordered were overcooked. We ordered them medium rare and they were medium. We did not return for a few years. Recently I read many good reviews and assumed that the food was now better. We returned and again ordered... More

It is a gem of a restaurant with the delicious food and wine. The service is wonderful. Make sure that you order the french fries because they are the best ever!

At the time we went, Pescadou was one of the highest rated restaurants in Newport Beach. I heartily trust Trip Advisor, so my anticipations were high. The cream of mushroom soup was very good, as was the escargot, classically prepared. My wife's Idaho trout was unusually good. So far, so good. But, my selection was so unexceptional I can't even... Pescadou is a delightful authentic French Bistro not just in my opinion but also, I'm sure, in the mind of the delightful genuine French owner, Jacques. It was a quiet night at the Bistro as Summer had just ended but the food was very good and fresh. I couldn't resist escargots for an appetizer and I was not disappointed -... More

While in the Newport Beach area for vacation we ate at the Pescadou Bistro. By far it was the best restaurant we ate at during our stay. My husband had the escargot and a lamb dish. I had the french onion soup and the mussels. The waiters were attentive and knowledgeable. This is a very quaint french bistro. We loved... More

A store-front restaurant with a truly French atmosphere, Pescadou has become a favorite of my husband's and mine. It is also one of the very few places in the U.S. where I'll order mussels. The moule/frite is wonderful, as is everything else I've had to eat there. And dessert! I always order the Floating Island; a satisfying, sweet treat, not... More

We had a wonderful dinner and every course was memorable. Our favorites were Escargot, Rabbit, Duck confit and Apple Tart tartan. The flavors were outstanding. The service was outstanding and the ambience felt like being transported back to a cafe in France. We will go back
