A delightful taste of France

Pescadou was perfect for a date night in Newport Beach. The staff there were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and added to the experience by adding tidbits about France and where the food comes from and why the menu was chosen for that week. We stumbled into the restaurant when we dropped by Newport beach. We were greeted with French, which was a good sign. We were lucky as we were given the last table in a very busy Saturday night. We spoke French to the waiters as well, and service was quick. Even though the a la carte menu was solid, we were... More

We celebrated various birthdays and anniversaries recently, with my sister-in-law and her husband, at Pescadou Bistro. This was our second visit to this gem of a restaurant and we were not disappointed. The service and atmosphere are really first-rate, as is the food. I had the small portion of the lamb chops, with Ratatouille. Simply delicious! My starter was Escargot.... More

You could spend the air fare to France and still not fined a meal to compare with Pescadou Bistro. The friendly service is a direct result of the owners, who are both chief and maitre'd and the fare is beyond compare. My favorite being the cassoulet simply delicious, utterly french and absolutely country cuisine, the kind that only a farm... More

Walked in with no reservations, was seated very quickly by the hostess. Ordered a nice bottle of sancerre to start the meal. Jacques took our order after letting us know the fresh fish of the day. Our meal consisted of the following: Starters Friture, crispy calamari, crayfish, aioli - Terrific and tasty Merguez, lamb sausage, ratatouille, harissa - wonderful Saucisson,... More

Perfect in every way except for the overcooked fish in the bouillabaisse . The broth was to die for, just like France, someone slipped on the seafood and fish, which is a shame. The service was exceptional. Clearly a local favorite, which makes it even more inviting.

If you are tired of ordering bouillabaisse and getting cioppino, this is your place. This is the dish I've had in France and St. Marten. Lovely restaurant, nice atmosphere, excellent food and a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

My wife recently had a business conference in this area. Six other couples from the conference joined us at this restaurant. It was a great experience! The Restaurant is in a busy area and does not look that appealing from the exterior. However, from the moment we arrived, we felt like we were in a Bistro in France. The owner,... More

We had a family birthday party here. The atmosphere is laid-back elegance. The service was friendly and professional. We started with pate that made me feel like I was in France. Next came mussels - perfectly cooked with a mild broth. My dinner was Salmon with mashed potatoes and spinach. The dinner was delicious, satisfying and beautifully presented. The dessert... More
