Very small and cute! We ordered the raclette. It was good but a bit over-rated. We also had the fois gras, it was seared. Very tasty. My husband ordered the John Dory (fish), excellent. I had steak. It was over cooked and just average. We had a great bottle of wine. For dessert we had the apple tart...the reviews are... more

Newport Beach has a well-earned reputation as a great regional dining destination, and that's largely on the strength of superb restaurants like Basilic. This eight-table, quiet, romantic gem offers first-rate Swiss (read "Continental") cuisine. A local here- one of my favorite restaurants in town. Not a chain. Feels like you're in a small European town of the border of France & Switzerland. Only a few tables; reservations a MUST. Great fun, warm ambiance. A little gem. more
