This is a quaint, very small restaurant, but it is a very nice, intimate setting, unless the table next to you is occupied. For appetizers we had the dried beef and melted raclette cheese, which were quite good and tasty. Main courses: Pepper steak and rack of lamb were delish. For dessert: Creme brulee and chocolate walnut pie were quite... More

We are definitely foodies who read the reviews and seek out highly recommended restaurants when traveling. I sent an email per their website for reservations more than two months before our trip as I wanted something fabulous for our wedding anniversary. The restaurant is very small, probably only seats 20 people, so I would definitely make a reservation in advance.... More

We are foodies so we are very demanding - hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. The good: awesome menu - finally a place with items such as endive au gratin, steak tartare, foie gras, coq au vin, duck, ... and several other items which are missing on many other upscale restaurants' menus. If you want some distinctive European dishes... More

This was by third time there. It is the place we always go when we visit friends in this area. The space is small and tight but not uncomfortable. Service is professional but also friendly. The owner is also a waiter there. The format is several specials daily, a tasting menu plus the regular menu. We brought a couple of... More

Was in the Costa Mesa are for business for 4 days and was looking for a nice dinner in Newport Beach. I didn't specifically want seafood today. I was browsing tripadvisor restaurants and found this one. I found the menu to be great and it was tough to figure out just which dish to order as they all sounded so... More

Step inside and be transported to a small bistro in Paris. Experience gourmet dinning in an intimate, charming and serene venue. Much attention to detail and food that is lovingly prepared by the owner/chef. One of the best dining experiences in the OC.

Searching for a intimaate restaurant with excellent food and service? This is the place! Besdies the wonderful food, you can actually have a quiet conversation and hear the other person. That is rare to find these days. Reservations are recommended because there are only eight tables. Look for the French flag infront of Basilic and enjoy a romanitic evening that... More

Looking for special evening for my lovely wife anniversary din and got this tip from local at hotel and it was winner winner. French Swiss local, maybe eight tables, but had it all. Atmosphere amazing, service personal, food, amazing. The Blue Crab appetizer is the perfect start for and amazing dining experience. Then heirloom tomato salad is a perfect gateway... More
