Hawaian Fusion for a Price

I large group of us (15) went to Roy's for dinner. The service was really top notch. They deserved every bit of the $200 tip. I had the black cod (butter fish) and it was pretty good but they gave me a tail piece that was pretty thin so it was overdone. Others at the table had thicker pieces... read more

Keeping up our tradition, while my girlfriend and I tend to favor local spots over chains we always make it a point to check out Roy's if there is one in the area. The food never disappoints, the more we try the more the ambiance and service vary. Roy's Newport Beach is located in Fashion Island. Situation next to True... More

This was such a disappointment. I had been to the original Roy's when it first opened in Honolulu and it was outstanding. With so many copycats out there, it didn't take long before a lot of restaurants began serving similar Pacific Rim cuisine, but Roy's always seemed to maintain an edge in quality. Not so here. The place itself seemed... More

I've gone to Roy's a few times in the past and have always liked it. This time was no different. I even feel like the menu has gotten more affordable, especially the wine list. I had a good Estancia Pinot Grigio for $8 a glass. We started with the lobster bisque and caesar salad. The caesar was delicious as was... More

Huge fan of Roy's in Hawaii Kai...Whole different experience in Newport. Not as fresh. Different menu.. Good but I'd say more like Roy's light!

On a recent Saturday evening, valet was full and Fashion Mall parking so packed it took nearly 30 minutes to find a spot. By the time we got to our table, personal attention from Tim and Hamilton made us forget any hesitancy. Service is a highlight......it was friendly and efficient, staff made us feel important. All in our party had... More

My husband and I visit the Roy's in Kaanapali, Maui every time we are there. We even had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. We love it and this Roy's in Newport Beach didn't disappoint! We went for Valentine's Day when we were in Newport Beach and had an incredible meal. It was a prixe fixe menu so a little limited,... More

We have eaten here several times over the years and we also try to go during Newport Beach Restaurant Week every year and have their special menu, which by way of year to year comparison is the way this review is intended. Two years ago the Roy's NBRW menu was one of the best meals we have ever eaten, a... More

If revisiting a favorite old haunt in a new city is appealing, the Orange County edition of Roy's will not disappoint. Lots of great old stand-by entrees, a particularly boisterous large party by the front door who had moved from pre-dinner adult beverages to several more of same from the time we arrived for supper until we said aloha to... We made a reservation my husband and myself for his birthday and for our daughter and her family forger birthday. It also happened to be Restaurant Week in Newport Beach and Roy's was on the list of restaurants partaking in that event. Many restaurants offered a prix fixe menu for that occasion or you could order from the regular menu.... More
