This is the 6th Roys I have visited and I was not disappointed. Very good food, very good service. The only downside was a couple of screaming children, but it didn't last long.

We dined at Roys with one other couple and we both arrived in time to enjoy the Happy Hour promotion which was a terrific value! "WE told Jessie, the waitress, that we wanted separate checks because one of us were using a gift card and we told her the minute we sat down." Every appetizer and cocktail was well done, delicious... We have never been disappointed at Roy's. The service is great. The appetizers for the kids are fun! Love the edamame that comes complimentary to your table. We had the appetizer for two, baby green salad, miso soup and the chocolate soufflé. Everything was awesome. The kids LOVE the ice cream sundaes with their names written on the plate in... More

I called to make reservations and the host was very pleasant and engaging. She asked if was a special occasion and I said yes, a birthday. She asked the name, confirmed the time and other info. When we arrived we were seated quickly. At the table were sparkles and streamers that spelled out my date's name! Nice touch. She thought... More

My husband and I have heard nothing but rave reviews from friends and families about Roy's (mainly from the SD/Rancho Mirage/Oahu location) so he decided to take me there for my birthday (Newport Beach location). I was quite disappointed due to the service we received. I ordered a sangria which never came. Although they had a good amount of patron... More

I used to love Roy's, but it seems as though lately they have become so "corporate", losing that edge of fine innovative dining-- with average service, mediocre presentation for food, and a feeling like they have "cooks" vs a "chef" We recently had dinner there, and from the hostesses to wait staff, they all seemed very disengaged, food was truly... Went for the last [for awhile] of the Monday night specially priced dinners. Had the rib appetizers. They were delicious as they are slow cooked like a pot roast for 5 hours. They were very meaty with some fat. I would prefer baby backs with less fat as it was hard to fully enjoy them thinking about how unhealthy they... More

This review is only for the Aloha Happy Hour. We love their Aloha hour. $5 cocktails, wine and appetizers 4:30 to 6:30 Sunday through Friday Bar only. This is another place you need to get there early for a place to sit. Worth it. We have tried every appetizer (changes occasionally) on the menu. All are good. My only issue... More

I went to Roy's with a friend after not having been there for a couple of years. We shared the vegetable egg roll appetizer, which was wonderful. Then I had the Alaskan Halibut entree and my friend had lamb chops. Both dishes were excellent. The staff also acknowledged my shell fish allergy that I noted when I made the reservation... More

What happened to Roy's?? That's what we said after a Dec. Sunday night dinner with another couple (she was celebrating her birthday). Smelled like a fish market walking in. Sushi & a roll obviously prepared well ahead of our arrival. Small portions and some over cooked. Over priced. The complimentary birthday surprize was a dried out yellow cake ball with... More
