We came upon this restaurant while looking for a place to eat lunch as we drove from the Newport Beach peninsula after taking the ferry from Balboa Island. We had not heard of the restaurant and did not know what to expect. We shared fish tacos and Kale salad, which contained a great amount of grilled chicken breast which had... More

Dropped by for dinner on a Sat night. Had to take a seat at the sushi bar upstairs because the restaurant was booked for a private event. No matter. Service was excellent, as well as the sushi we ordered! Heard from someone else to stop by here for happy hour to get a great price on the sushi platter we... More

I was there as part of a large group and it appeared the organizer agreed to a limited menu selection which always disappoints me. I'm a bit of a foodie and love finding that wackly wonderful dish! The appetizers were outstanding (calamari, red peppers stuffed with cheese and a raw tuna dish) however my halibut main dish was a bit... More

Had dinner with a group of 7 and it was great! The waitstaff was nice and knowledgeable. He was really accommodating and seemed to be really enjoying his job! The food was great and the bar drinks were creative! The location, was nice, even though we really didn't get to walk around outside since we didn't have time, but the... More

If you like seafood, fresh, cooked to perfection and wonderfully presented then try the Cannery. "Beachy" ambiance, relaxed, many tables with a nice view especially upstairs in the bar. Service is leisurely so don't plan on a quick meal. But why would you want a quick meal with the location and the view? The food was outstanding. The swordfish was... More

From the moment we walked in the door, The Cannery provided an excellent sensory experience. Service is well paced but not at all rushed. The wine list is superb! All food is tastefully prepared and artfully presented. The relaxing location on the water is hard to beat. What a treat!

The atmosphere at this restaurant is one of the best I have been to. It is Upscale trendy with a traditional feel. Not sure there is a bad table in this large restaurant. That was all thought out very well. Lots of character throughout the entire restaurant. Our party of 9 chose to sit on the outside deck which was... More
