Old, but Good

The Cannery usually has excellent dishes- the location stays one of old newports iconic moments- this is higher in price than some, but children are usually really happy here too.

Good food with a lively atmosphere. Bar upstairs for those looking to mingle. Dinner downstairs is good for families, business dinner or "date night".

Women in tube tops and thrift store jeans........ Men in t shirts and shorts. Food---Good, not excellent, and the presentation was terrible. Just because you are serving a child.....its still a filet mignon. Dress it up and make it pretty. Looked like it was just thrown on the plate....bloody drippings oozing into the mashed potatoes all the way over on... More

We've been there in a party of 16, that's not the first time and we were as expected pleasantly received and served. The appetizers were delicious specially the calamari and main courses were gorgeous. The bouillabaisse is a must try.

My friend recommended the Cannery when she heard I would be in a he area, and she was right. Sadly we couldn't get a table outside but were told they would call us asap one opened. We decided to go upstairs and got a 2 top near bar. I must say we had good service and due to dinner plans only... More

Our Sunday brunch was extremely pleasant. We were a party of four, seated on the nice covered veranda looking out to the harbor. We chose eggs Benedict, omelette, Creme Brule French toast. All were very tasty, though the French toast was more like bread pudding and was very sweet. The staff is very accommodating and kind. Prices are a bit... More

When I called SAME DAY for a reservation of 14 people, she said, "Let me see what I can do.." On hold for a minute and came back & she asked if I could come 15 mins earlier than I'd originally asked for and Viola! We were on the outside patio with an amazing view of the Bay with an... More

We had a landmark birthday event here for 25 people. They set up an outside table by the boats with appetizers including sushi. The swordfish entree was very good. The ambiance overlooking the harbor was excellent. Heat lamps kept us warm.

We visited The Cannery for brunch, sat outside next to the channel so we had a wonderful view of the boats and people using the channel. A couple of speed boats docked and were loud for a couple of minutes. Otherwise it was a great place for brunch! Food was excellent, service was lovely. We'll go back!
