Wonderful pasta and seafood at reasonable prices!

This restaurant is a block inland from the ocean, near the Newport Pier. We dined there twice in five nights in Newport Beach; it was that good. It was busy and the service was great. Il Farro is a 2 minute walk from the Newport Pier. Faro is a grain similar to barley. It's similar to risotto and their sauces make it delicious! And there are mani other wonderful Italian dishes and sea food as well. This is a friendly tratorria with great food, a deli, and excellent wine list. Forget the Old Spaghetti Factory.... More

I had the Ravioli di Farro al Zafferano it had spinach and ricotta with fresh asparagus In a saffron sauce, It was very good! :) The Vitello al Marsala was also a popular dish that night. My wife ordered the... More

On the peninsula in Newport Beach, Il Farro has the ambiance of a small town restaurant in an Italian Village. Prices are most reasonable and the service is most attentive without being obtrusive. Friendly staff is also a Plus. Casual but satisfying with an ideal location near the old Dory Boat Pier.

The food was excellent! We went two nights in a row for dinner. The salmon dish was fabulous and so were the seafood ravioli. The garlic olive oil with bread was so good we wanted to eat it with a spoon The service here is top notch!

Il Farro is a little hidden over by Newport Pier. The parking is abysmal, but the treat that awaits you is worth it. Its a fairly small restaurant with a small patio for dining and a little more room inside. Its located adjacent to Baja Rock Lobster and the Stag bar. You can blink and pass it. My favorite dish... We happened on this small Italian Restaurant close to the Newport pier, il Farro. The Italian staff welcomed us and were very attentive. Farro grain is a special healthy grain that they use to make most of their pastas at the restaurant. It is delicious. It is low carb, low gluten, high fiber and organic. Their menu is quite extensive and... More

After a 2 year absence we returned to eat at Il Farro and found it wonderful. The three of us adults enjoyed the wine, appetizers (soups and salads) and pasta entrees. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. It was a good value and a good experience.

One of the few places open in the afternoon the day before Christmas that wasn't packed and noisy. Had a lovely meal, great service, clean, relaxing, friendly and simple. There were vegetarian choices and wonderful desserts. What a little gem.
