Still best breakfast

I kept my sailboat in the Balboa Bay Yacht Basin for years and had many a good breakfast and hot coffee there. Went back with trepidation after a long absence, and found the same friendly service, big breakfasts ang good coffee. All right beside the bay with ample free parking.

I had been to the owners newest place at Fullerton Airport, Wings. So when it the Newport Beach area I had to try their original place. A great surprise. Good food, a view of the harbor and Balboa Island. Simple and good food. Expect formica counters. The best part is that its away from the crowds and tourists on the... More

Nice place for an old-school breakfast. The view was fun and the service was good. The place is a small diner type - so, no really for large groups. We ate here on a Wednesday morning and did not have to wait - some folks who came letter did though. The diner is located in a quiet neighborhood on the... More

It's a litter harder to locate the first time but worth the search. Located overlooking a boat/yacht slip area, the hometown greeting and service is tops. The menu is simple and the malts/shakes a meal in themselves

It's a small diner in a really nice neighborhood, with really quaint views. The line forms outside where you wait on the honor system, and they can't fit large groups. We saw the reviews online and we went for our last breakfast in Newport Beach. The pancakes were good, the bacon was ok, the french toast was good, the drinks... More

We actually ate breakfast here twice we liked it so much. A little pricey, but good portions. Its very small so not intended for large groups. Very quaint with original countertops and stools. Excellent and friendly service and the food was very good. nice view as well.

After a few days of Disneyland we where lucky enough to travel to the beach and find this small breakfast nook. I loved the small town feel and the did fountain just what we where looking for. The server was extremely friendly especially for 7am on mother's day... Great food as well. Highly recommend.

A local recommended the Galley Cafe as the only authentic diner in the area and he was right! Small, no tables for large parties, but the counter is great! Right on the water at a marina, reportedly where John Wayne used to stop in. Excellent food at decent prices. Our pancakes, eggs, breakfast burritos were awesome! Nice staff.

This is a wonderful little restaurant that is at the very end of a street on the water in Newport Beach. It's a small place with a very, very nice menu and nice staff to go with it. It radiates its own charm from specials posted on a board to cozy booth and counter-top dining options. The Galley Cafe is... More

I absolutely love the "Ma & Pa" little hole-in-the-wall places, and I've been rooting for the Galley for years! My family, on the other hand, has not been impressed, largely ignores my opinion, and 99.9% of the time opts for another breakfast spot!! Anyway, truth be told, they're right on most points. It's a bit of a trick to find.... More
