great seafood restaurant

been coming here for 30 years and have always enjoyed this restaurant. It has a giant shark in there and many ocean themed items. It is fun to look around and see everything they have in there. I love the Manhattan clam chowder. I have yet to find anywhere that does it better. We had the bacon... read more

My family recently took a trip to Newport Beach. My daughter had never seen the an ocean so we decided to make a weekend out of it. My wife asked a friend about the local fair and was recommended to try the Crab Cooker. It was a weekend night and very busy. We were seated near the entrance and right... More

The crab here was excellent. The crab cakes were to die for. The sides were plenty good as well. Overall, a fantastic meal.

Paper plates. Food not the best. Staff are nice but seem overwhelmed. Not on my favorite list. Fish was ok

The seafood is very good here, and is served on paper plates, with plastic forks. Reminds me of east coast seafood places. The Lobster on the stick is awesome but pricey. My favorite is the shrimp & scallop combo. The shrimp alone gets dried out a bit, but the 2 together keep the shrimp moist.

I simply can not list everything! This is a very, very bad place. Not a care for anything. Terrible food served in a tacky atmosphere. Potatoes, Slaw, Fish just not edible. The disposable dinnerware; 6oz cups, thin plastic flatware, cheap paper plates and naps were actually acceptable among the filth. Dining elbow to elbow with complete strangers. OMG! if it... More

Yes it's an institution. Yes the staff of lifers are very good at what they do. We have grown up w the Cooker. Sunday evening w a party of 7 We were absolutely insulted to the point of leaving. Their rigid policy of not seating you untill everyone was present, was militaristic! Nope can't seat you five visitors untill everyone... More

Paper plates and plastic silverware, tiny tables and fast waitresses. This place was as much fun to look at as it was to eat in. They have random stuff all over the walls and ceiling and you can see the chefs cooking through the glassed-in cooking station. We were able to get in quickly on a Thursday night with no... More

This was my first visit to the Crab Cooker and certainly not my last. We went on a Wednesday evening, a party of 3, and we promptly seated. The decor is quaint and a little offbeat which I love. The waitress was very friendly, helpful, and on top of her service. I ordered the smoked salmon appetizer which was served... More
