Yes, the food was very good, nice presentation, service was excellent ( server was Mavie), reservation easy to acquire and was on time but there was not any 'Wow' factor to the place. And not that there has to be but something to separate it from the big chains like a Fleming's would be a treat. The filet mignon was... More

I went with a group on a Saturday night and was treated to a wonderful meal. Our waiter Larry was outstanding and made wonderful menu suggestions. We all left saying we would definitely return.

Excellent spot for dinner. One night we ate inside, three nights later we ate outside. Same waiter (Sora) and he remembered what the 3 of us had to drink!! Impressive. Food both Seafood and Filets were great, they pour a great drink and the atmosphere is cool with a view of boats etc. You should go there

My husband, son and I had made a reservation for Sunday brunch at 1:30. When we arrived, we were told the only table they had available was behind a piano and the singer that performs during brunch. I asked if there was any other table available and was told we would have to wait a long time to get another... More

Who would think that the best venison my husband ever ate, could be had in Newport Beach CALIF at the Bayside? Well it was just superb. But even better was the Octopus appetizer - very unique preparation that was a feast for the senses and NOT too filling. The Halibut was perfectly cooked but a bit bland. Nice wine selections.

Very nice restaurant with a great location. Atmosphere inside is great, also looks out to Balboa Island and some beautiful houses. The happy hour here has some really good items that are decently priced. It can get a little busy on the weekends and sometimes you will need a reservation, but overall I've always had a really good experience at... More

We had a terrific dinner last night of perfectly cooked crab cakes and a grilled salmon filet over bok choy. The menu has a variety of choices including steaks and rack of lamb. When you go, ask to sit on the bar side. A small trio or a pianist is always entertaining. The bar side is a "scene" , the... More

Newport Beach is a tough community on restaurants. If one slips up, it is gone. This great establishment has wonder food, ambiance and service. It is a large restaurant but has a warm modern comfortable feel. An added bonus is a large parking lot, a rarity in a lot of other restaurants

I would rate the Bayside as very good with some reservation. We have eaten there previously with a better food experience. My dampened enthusiasm this time was brought about by a rather so-so entrée of giant tiger prawns with “famous” green risotto. I would not exactly have called the grilled prawns giant and the risotto was disappointing. Risotto is a... More

Over the years, we have come to view Newport Beach "restaurant week" rather as "rip off week", due to most restaurants downsizing/minimizing the portions and menu... We hadn't been to Bayside in many years, and decided to give a try again... and what a very very nice surprise it was... The menu was excellent, as were the plates and portions...... More
