Great food

I tried the Mama D's sauce with jumbo shrimp and rigatoni noodles. The sauce is marinara and Alfredo mix. It was good and the prices were reasonable. It usually crowded with tight booths. Overall, 4 stars.

The pink sauce is amazing. I had it on my pasta, put a little put on a piece of bread I even put a straw to it. Amazing stuff and crazy that Newport has such a great little italian place like this. They do need more seats though but besides that the food is amazing and worth the wait for... More

Always wanting to try somewhere I haven't been, I chose Mama D's for my birthday dinner. Patrick, our waiter, was wonderful. Everyone in the restaurant was so friendly. If I could, I would give it 6 stars for the staff alone! The food is great. The pink sauce was the best. I loved the birthday treat at the end.

This is our second visit here with the last being in September. When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. (It was early, before 5:00) This time we both ordered the Cioppino and were absolutely pleased. Being from the Philadelphia and the New York areas and loving to eat GOOD Italian food we think we are a little... More

In February, we stayed on Newport Beach & visited Mama D's. We really enjoyed our meal & now in May we are on Balboa Island which is just over the bridge so we went again. This location does NOT take reservations so unless you plan to stay & wait for quite a while, go early. The lines get so long... More

Based on the reviews from this site as well as yelp, we were looking forward to visiting this restaurant. When we arrived at about 6pm, there was a long waiting list and people were sitting on outside chairs that the restaurant provides. Surely this was a sign that the food was going to be delicious! While my husband and adult... More

Homemade ravioli is the item to get, keeps it lighter than other selections. Keep a light attitude, bring the family, and just have fun. It's busy but they have built in fun. Meatball tasters included.

I have been here many times and just love this place. It's a family owned business of brothers and I believe the first one opened in Manhattan Beach. I started going to that one close to 10 yrs or so ago. Never have had a bad meal. I even come here and have a side of meatballs, salad and mozzarella... More

We were strolling along and decided to go in on a whim. Best meal all trip and better than authentic Italian in Rome in our experience! We had the Alfredo and a Lasagna bake. Both were incredible!! The atmosphere is very welcoming and family oriented. A sign on the wall declares that kids make their own pizza - we watched... More
