We drove down to Nevada City to have dinner with family. We love Thai and the recommendations from tripadvisor #6 of 46 we figured it must be great! The outdoor seating is wonderful, so atmosphere gets 5 stars...from there just average Thai. The service was poor, we were asked at door if we had reservations...we had called an hour earlier... My wife & I ate at Sopa last night, and had a wonderful meal & nice outdoor setting. I had the Pra Ram dish with mixed seafood in a peanut sauce with rice. My wife had a Curry dish with scallops that was to die for. Great service also - we'll be back....

Most thai restaurants I've been to are pretty spartan in appearance. Sopa is very nicely done up, with obvious attention paid to every detail. There are two dining rooms and a beautiful patio out back where you can dine under a huge tree. It's delightful in the summer. I've not been to Thailand, so I don't know how authentic the... More

This small restaurant was introduced by friends who live in Penn Valley. The owner and their servers are patient and knowledgeable about the choices that are available. The food is available in the usual degrees of spice. If the weather is conducive, ask for outdoor seating on the back patio. There is also an elevated section overlooking a thematic flume... More

Great Thai food and excellent value for lunch or dinner. Offers nice courtyard for outdoor dining. It's on a back street so you may not see it at first but well worth a visit. A variety of seating areas offers choices for larger groups or couples and families. The owners are wonderful,

Nice job Sopa!!! Extensive menu. Food was delicious. Lots of different flavors and spices without being overpowering or to spicy/hot. Didn't leave the restaurant looking for ice cream immediately as we have with some Thai places. Try the pumpkin curry.

Ran in for a quick healthy lunch and not disappointed - great selection, friendly welcome, scrummy food.

A cross between Thai and California. You will be surprised by how good the food is. If the weather is good eat outside.

I have traveled extensively in Thailand and one of the attractions for me is their food. I've found that Thai restaurants in the States tend to change the flavors, perhaps to suit the American palate. American Thai food tends to be sweeter and lacking in spiciness and freshness in regard to herbs so wasn't expecting much when I went there.This... More

Sopa Thai in Yuba City is one of my favorite restaurants. My hubby and I went to Victorian Christmas in Nevada City and we were starving. We turned the corner and we see Sopa! The restaurant was packed by the staff made every effort to make us comfortable and happy. We sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves immensely! Great... More
