I enjoyed the meal but thought the Ribs were salty. The Lobster was huge and worth the wait to cook. The appetizers were mediocre at best(fondue & clams). The caesar salads were good. The restaurant was nice and the music was lovely.

My friends and I decided to splurge the last night we were in Nevada City and find a nice restaurant to eat at; we stumbled into Friar Tuck's a bit by accident, and we were SO glad we did! First of all the cocktails were dangerously delicious (I ordered a chocolate martini) but the FOOD... had swiss cheese fondue and... More

A little like Sherwood Forest with trees growing up through floor. I had a broccoli au gratin soup which was OK, but service was slow. There was live music from a guitar player who sang 60's songs. Talked to locals who regularly come to Friar Tuck's.

We got a cozy nook table between the bar area and one of the dining rooms with a tree in the middle of it. There was great live music. The duck was pretty good. Hot chocolate was average. It was great having an almost private table.

Dined here several times while in Nevada City, in the restaurant tucked into a large table, and also at the bar. Good food, friendly staff, nice wine selection and cocktails, but the atmosphere wins hands down due in great measure to the high quality of the musical entertainment. Thanks, Friar Tuck's, keep it up!

We have been patronizing Friar Tuck's for about 20 years. This last dinner was not outstanding. First, they do not offer a salad with dinner -- it's separate. The rack of lamb, which I loved, has become tough and was definitely undercooked. The restaurant has lost ifs pzaaazz. Prices are very high.

The food was delicious. We had cheese fondue for an appetizer. The service was fantastic and it had a full bar and live music.

I loved the atmosphere and the food. Not so easy to find gluten free options, though. Of course that is hard when you are traveling anyway!

The food was terrific, super steak, perfect prawns. The service was great, friendly without being intrusive, and the ambience good. We were surprised that this restaurant wasn't rated higher, having eaten at two rated above it by fellow tripadvisor reviewers.
