cute, friendly and bustling. food is decent, cajun-ish, but more hippie than bayou. i had the gumbo, which was good if you think of it as a chicken and veggie stew, but not authentic. it was more expensive than i'd have expected! only one server and she was a little over-extended. only takes cash -- i'm ok with that in... Ike's Quarter Cafe is a very casual place. It's warm, funky, friendly and crowded. We hd a half hour wait, so went up the street to window shop. When we returned, our table was ready, there was also a short wait for the restroom due to the popularity of the place. The menu was huge. It took a while to... More

We stopped in for brunch while in Nevada City for Victorian Christmas. Ike's is a Creole inspired restaurant with a lot of Louisiana flair in their cooking. The breakfast menu continued until 2PM which was perfect as most of us ordered breakfast items. There is a patio of about 8 tables outside but it was rather cold to be eating... More

This restaurant has a huge menu of items to choose from including breakfast food until 2PM. They also have a great vegetarian menu. We had a tofu sandwich which was delicious. It came with cheese and some other veggies and french fries. We ate outside on the outdoor patio under the nice trees. Inside seating looked good too but it... More

Ike's is a family-run restaurant where employees are treated like family, too. This feeling is passed on to customers. This is a great place for any kind of a meeting with outside seating under big trees (can be chilly) with lots of shade; indoor booths and tables. It's good for a person alone, too, as one is made to feel... More

Very friendly service, good atmosphere, big menu, had to have grits on the side with my frittata that included andouille sausage slices and a topping of pesto. Everything fresh and housemade here, organic ingredients. Perhaps that was why had to specially request hot pepper sauce from the kitchen: they likely make their own here and it is a treat.

The food is very unique and mouth watering. The portions are generous. Must say the service is slow and wait times can be lengthy.

I had the vegan biscuits and gravy. They were good. I would go back and try it again because it's cute and I saw what others had and it looked good.

I am a Nevada City resident and have been a fan of Ike's for years. The food and service are excellent - this is not a formal place, and has a "get-down" ambience, with the New Orleans style cusine. It is a favorite of ours for lunch and breakfast...............we never had had a complaint. Local, organic produce and the preparation... More
