Terrible service!

It's a shame that the Old 5 Mile House has changed so much , the service is horrible and food is bad . Too bad that such a nice place with history has turned into a terrible restaurant with rude waitresses. We won't be returning.

We stopped here for a late lunch on the recommendation of a couple of friends. Not crowded at 3pm, and we appreciated the warming fire which took off the day's chill. We ordered paninis, one a Reuben, the other a ham, Camembert, and pear. Both were excellent, too large actually, but so good we ate them all. Very reasonable prices... More

Our mooseriders bike club stumbled me into this wonderland of faboulous food. The owner has turned his resturant into taste themes from around the world each month, includingroast whole pigglet in the summer.you must takethe time to taste. All i can say is WOW!!!!!

This lovely restaurant sits five miles outside of Nevada City. They have good food, monthly regional specials, and a great outdoor venue with good music in the warmer months. But the serve is always poor. We have come to the conclusion that they need one more wait person and one more bus person at every shift. So if you go,... More

I chose to treat the family to a special dinner at this restaurant on the recommendation of the B&B where we were staying, as well as the proximity convenience. The menu is extensive, and perhaps this is why our selected dishes turned out so ordinary? Not the quality one would expect at the prices charged... If we were ever to... More

Nice place. 4 piece jazz band with soloist were very good. Austrian spaetzle with Gruyere cheese was delish as was their zucchini/eggplant pizza with goat cheese! Service was very good, both at the bar and at the dining table.

My husband and I have been frequenting “The Old 5 Mile House” for over a decade now, enjoying lunch or dinner when we’re out for a nice drive in the Gold Country or on our way home (short scenic side trip) from beautiful Lake Tahoe. It’s a 5 min. drive from Nevada City or 50-60 min. drive from Hwy 80... More

The food there was amazing. My other half and I was in Nevada City and went on Tripadvisor to see where we could go for some good food and entertainment. We saw some reviews and pictures for this venue and we decided this was the place. We walked in and right away I knew we were going to have a... More

Went for a nice dinner and had great food. They had a live band, outdoor seating and great service. We were surprised with the family atmosphere with a kids play area outdoors and a teater-toter. I highly recommended this for a couples night out or a family night out. We will be back.

I love the monthly adventures to different lands and cuisines! That being said, the fried chicken during the month of Texas has ruined me for anyone else's! Everything we've eaten there is good, and anyone in the area should go and enjoy
