We had heard great things about this cafe and were very surprised by the poor quality of the food and the friendly but negligent service. The kitchen has a sign that says 'Beware of attack chef" which is pretty funny given how surly the kitchen staff seems. I didn't get from the food that anyone really takes pride in it.... More

If you like greasy food this is the restaurant for you. We have tried South Pine Street several times and always end up with bad stomachs after eating their hamburgers, very greasy ! Some of their clientele have dreadlocks and smell. There are always groups of them hanging out in front of the cafe at the Nevada City location.

We went in for brunch. My husband ordered the carne asana burrito and I had the veggie omelet. Bothe were exceptional. Fresh vegetables, hot food, great service.

From Tofu to muffins to burgers this place is so popular for their vegan meals and burgers also just plain good food that is done with a twist. Wraps also and egg dishes so popular for breakfasts. Buckwheat pancakes and gluten free meals also. Scarmbled egg dishes with quinoa etc . healthy food

Potato pancakes for the table with fresh pesto - delicious. Everything else was great too but that stood out!

We are BIG fans of breakfast on Saturdays and South Pine Cafe did not disappoint as far as food goes. Had the Super Sampler and Blackstone Benedict and we managed to prove yet again what the clean plate club looks like. I'd drive back to Nevada City just to have breakfast at this place again. As other Yelpers stated, as... More

I have been here many times and I love this place. Great atmosphere, small but arranged well. Rustic just like Nevada City. Service is great every time and food is always great. Love their breakfasts especially. My favorite meal of the day. This sounds like a little thing but I think it's really important..the tables have napkins on them, lots of... More

My husband and I occasionally stay at the National Hotel for a bit of an escape and, while I sleep in, he walks over to the Cafe for my breakfast in bed. ALWAYS fantastic. The prices are a bit high- but so is everything else in this small, tourist town. The man cooking is a CHEF! Fantastic, unique creations are... More

My life long search for the best biscuits and gravy ended here. You can't imagine how good it is. It's gourmet biscuits and gravy. Exactly the right proportions of biscuits and gravy. The staff is so friendly too. I wish I didn't live too far away to come back again soon.
