Going out to eat with kids can be a pain, especially when you have to wait. But, this place was awesome! No, it's not a 5 star appearance, and no, it's not somewhere you can walk right in and sit down, so don't go in with those expectations. BUT, it IS great, high quality, well-priced food with gigantic portions and... More

This place is absolutely excellent. A dying breed of old school, downtown cafes. Now, of course, in California, this place has the hippie vibe but, if you're in Nevada City, you probably picked up on that already. Eat here! The food is great. There is an *enormous* selection of vegetarian and vegan options, cooked on a separate grill from the... More

This is one of the best restaurants in Nevada City and Grass Valley (they have two locations). A wider variety of breakfast and lunch dishes are available and everything is good; my mom and I usually get the lobster scrambled eggs.

Just at there this morning and the breakfast was delicious. I had olalaberry pancakes and they were so good. My wife had huevos rancheros which were great too. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a tasty breakfast. Not cheap but worth it.

Oh yea... Good food too. My kids love to get the mouse cakes. This place has brewed coffee to die for but make sure ya take your blood pressure meds before you go cause it's defiantly high octane!!! The sausage gravy and biscuits is among the best I've ever had.

I had the olallieberry french toast and fresh squeezed oj. Both were super delicious. The oj was sweet and perfectly pulped. The olallieberry sauce was the best part of breakfast.

South Pine Cafe is a great place for any meal when in the quaint gold rush era town of Nevada City. We stopped by for lunch on during the week while enjoying the Fall foliage the area is known for. Fortunately we didn't have to wait for a table as you would expect on a busy weekend. The servers were... More

Good cafe right in downtown Nevada City. Great breakfast food. Good coffee. Small restaurant so expect to wait especially on the weekends and special occasions. Many locals eat there so you know it's good. Funky atmosphere.
