Very good prime rib

I went there on a Wednesday night and had the prime rib, it came out just the way I had ordered it (medium) was hot, had a nice side of aujus as well as very good vegetables, large portion of broccoli and carrots. I always opt for the french fries, they were hot and crispy. Martini at the bar... read more

I've been coming here for at least 30 years and it's one of my parents regular restaurants. They offer a Groupon which is a fantastic deal. The prime rib is always excellent and one of my all time favorites is their side salad w/real blue cheese. The décor is old school with several classic black & white photo's of old... More

Yes, La Maze is a step back in time. Since the 1930's La Maze has been serving prime rib, steaks, seafood etc. in a very traditional setting. They re-built it recently, but just like it was originally (more or less) It is a National City treasure. The service and servers are excellent. The prices are fair. There's usually entertainment, and... More

I would never never NEVER go back. The restaurant reminds me of a 1960’s red vinyl booths, and crushed velvet wall paper step back in time. The carpet could use a good cleaning but otherwise it was a dark ‘old dinner club’ feel. There was live music, a little loud, however all around kind of fun. The food was fairly... More

It's too bad it took me so long to discover this local favorite, It's a very established restaurant with the charm of a swanky dining room of the past. I am so pleased to finally have the pleasure of eating here. If you're looking for an old fashioned, hearty and classy meal, then this place is for you. I have... More

Nice menu, great service and really good food. A great variety on the menu, fresh salads to main course. I enjoyed it very much. Very good service, clean place. You feel like a customer and guest.

Came here for dinner while in town & loved it! The food was amazing, staff was friendly & loved the old pictures of all the hollywood stars that used to go there. TV playing old movies, & live music. Would definitely recommend and go again! :)

We are visiting from out of state and wanted a good dinner close to our hotel. Cafe La Maze was ranked #2 in National City. Food was great as was the service. Prices are typical for a steakhouse supper club. We took our boys (10,13). Restaurant did not offer a kids' menu, but boys were happy with a steak burger... More

This restaurant has been around for over 60 years and still retains it's original character. It is nicely decorated and has low lighting and excellent ambiance. It has retained everything good about "old school", but is clean and the staff is excellent. The food is traditional - no crispy duck or pork belly - but it is well prepared. The... More
