I've been twice, both times were wonderful. The first time was in the Vista Dome, a great experience, definitely worth the money. The second time was in the Silverado Car, fun, but I preferred the Vista Dome.

For a romantic trip, my wife and I decided to do the wine train. 500 dollars for two people including a lunch in the vista dome and a visit to Castello di Amorosa. The train is cute, sure, but the one hour trip with good, but not gourmet food was definitely not worth the money. In addition, the train goes... More

My husband and I rode the train on July 24, 2014. What a wonderful experience. We chose the gourmet express. First, we were seated with a view out the window. We had appetizers and a glass of wine. We enjoyed the views up the valley. We were able to tour the rest of the train. On the return trip we... More

I brought a group of 22 people and had a private dome for the lunch tour on July 22. The service staff was excellent. Very courteous and professional. The food was exquisite! One of the best meals I have ever had, I truly recommend this experience to anyone!

Fireworks were watched in the train. Could not hear the explosions, which is half the fun. Trip took an extra hour, which I did not appreciate.

LOVED this experience!! The train was ULTRA fancy (very "she she foo foo"!) and the service was STELLAR!! Lovely to be able to drive through the beautiful wine country and see everything without having to drive yourself. But the meal --- just OFF THE CHAIN!! My husband had the ahi tuna and I had the grilled salmon. Delicious!! But the... More

This is a wonderful experience! My husband and I travelled on the train for a lunchtime trip, the food , service, wine, train, views, everything was excellent! Excellent value too. You need to book early if you want to do the dinner trip, or the champagne trip in the Dome carriage, but the other trip is still great! Don't worry... More

As you can imagine the food wasn't fabulous but what a fun thing to do while on Vacation in Napa. We reserved a table in the Vista Dome car and had a very fun evening. The very young wait staff was attentive and courteous, the fare (no pun intended) was served hot from an adjoining kitchen car and according to... More

I can't say enough about this wine train tour. The food is just as good if not better that a gourmet restaurant. The ambiance fits right in with the whole experience. Service is phenomenal. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about wines in general and the scenery during the trip was just so pretty to watch while we enjoyed our meal.... More

This was our first trip to Napa. We wanted to take the dinner train to familiarize ourselves with the valley and for a nice dinner. I agree with other reviews that they have you come too early to check in and we took a recommendation to have dinner the second 1/2 of the trip. Once we boarded it took a... More
