Took the Grinch Hills option which turned out to be a good choice. We had last been to Grinch Hills in 1982 when there were 35 wineries in Napa Valley, now about 350 I think. The food on the train was very good and better than I expected. Met some fun people and enjoyed the winery tour.

The Napa wine train is a slow moving and very pleasant way to see Napa. I very much enjoyed the trip and its pace after a long day of wine tasting the day before. We started with an appetizer in the lounge car which was quite nice. On our return trip we moved to the dining car for lunch. We... More

The title pretty much says it all, as it is hard to beat such a great combo. I have taken the wine train several times, the trips with my wife on our anniversary & another when my Mom came to visit were both quite memorable. Given the unique experience, it is a great place to take loved ones. Going into... More

We started our journey through Napa Valley on the Wine Train (lunch). It gave us a great frame of reference as we travelled through the valley identifying the numerous vineyards. They provide you with a menu/map. The menu also gives you a recommended wine pairing to accompany the meal. The food was excellent as was the service. We sat in... More

We had 3 couples on the Wine Train for the afternoon and had a wonderful time. The day was wonderful and the scenery perfect. It was a unique experience. Where else can you ride on a 100 year old train and have a gourmet meal. We brought our own bottle of wine and our server Lexie did a perfect job... More

This is a great tour to take. Started out with a nice meet and greet at the station. The food on the train was superb along with the service. The winery tour was nice along with sampling and bought a few bottles too. Highly recommend this tour to anyone.

We were quite surprised at the high quality of the food! we were expecting a pleasant tour with some nice wine. The salad and soup were gourmet quality as was our dessert. The entree we chose was steak and it was so-so. The view and train ride was comfortable and relaxing. We quire enjoyed it.

We were hoping for a decent ride thru Napa Valley on a train which usually ends that way.....not much expectation on the food as normally combo stuff does not really blend together......however we were stunt and left speechless with the great food serve to us.....we were very impress with our choice of entree.....choice of chicken, fish and pork.....which all tasted... We were seated in the Vista Dome for lunch and really enjoyed our experience on the Wine Train. As other reviewers have said, this isn't going to be the greatest meal of your Napa experience, but it's really relaxing and the meal was pretty good. It's a beautiful car with big view windows and the seating is very comfortable. The... More

I agree with other reviews; more of a great attraction than restaurant. This is a nice comfortable and relaxing excursion of the Napa Valley. The Train passes many wineries and the view is great! Tip: Get tickets early as the sellout very fast. Good selections of wine and Lunch is not bad. We would do this again, believe all would... More
