Very cool old school train with great service. Food was awesome. Even the chef stopped by to talk with us and answer questions. Defiantly a highlight of our trip.

While taking a family Christmas trip to Napa Valley, my mother in law stated that riding the wine train was on her bucket list, so we purchased tickets for Christmas Eve. Full disclosure: I actually dreaded doing this activity and I expected to absolutely hate it. But guess what? I had a good time! The train ride is fun. Yes,... More

Wine Train is a lovely upscale restaurant on wheels. Excellent food, service and ambiance. There is a misconception by many visitors to the valley that this is an on/off affair that allows one to visit the vineyards. Be sure to check out what the schedule is. At times a trek to a winery is an option...but then you must wait... More

This train ride, although fairly short, was on an old train with the satin backs and ropes that were strung above like the olden trains. 3 course meals, all delicious. Amazing and wonderful night on the train for dinner. I would like to try it during the day so you can see more, but overall, I would recommend this to... More

A great time to ride the train with your children is the Holidays near christmas. First pictures are taken in the station with Santa. Enjoy a glass of champagne. Boarding is done by car #. A short walk to the platform where you give your ticket to the conductor. Who directs you to your car. Climb into your car (... More

Experienced the train about 7 times for lunch, dinner and new years eve. This is the last year I will go on it. Lost its charm. Paid for privacy of Vista Dome car and got drunkards sitting behind us - a huge party them. Loud and drunk. Can see they were annoying other couples in our area. Daniel the waiter... More

Our second time on the wine train and even better than the first time. Food was great (surprising for a train). Trains clean and decorated well. An excellent time for anyone... I recommend lunch instead of dinner. You can't see the wineries in the dark so it is better during the day. Seriously recommended if you are in wine country!

Excellent ambiance and four course lunch. The Vista Dome is well worth the cost. Food was wonderful.
