My fiance and I are French and Italian. We both grew up on our respective cultural foods. Both of us enjoyed the food. No it doesn't exceed a 5 stat restaurant, but is that even possible? The train rocking, as some complained, is quite soothing and enhances the experience. Let's be realistic, what did you expect on a train that... more

First, I read some reviews of this tourist trap and read many bad comments regarding the bad food, the high price, the lack of wine and lack of winery stops and the highway scenery etc. But being the eternal optimist and realizing our anniversary was 2 weeks away I thought I would give it a shot. I went online and... more

Usually, we get very high praise over the quality of our meals. Our Executive Chef has a deep and abiding commitment to fresh and wholesome food (both for us and the plant or animal). He doesn’t serve anything that contains chemically enhanced products or that is laced with growth hormones. All the meals are made fresh and cooked to-order on...

We enjoyed the wine train itself and the service and food was outstanding as was the wine served aboard. Our only complaint was that the company operating it should have a rule prohibiting cell phones, laptops and/ or video games. One rude individual was pathetic enough to ignore his wife and kept his head buried in his laptop or cell phone... more

When it comes to "touristy events" I'm a bit jaded at times, but the lunch on the Wine Train was fun, educational and relaxing. I've been to the Napa Valley many times for wine tastings, but most of the time we are driving on a crowded Hwy 29 looking for the entrances of wineries on our list. Riding on the... more

Went on the wine train with 4 couples. We had a very nice day. The food was wonderful and the service was good. This was a great way for us to sit and visit while we dined. I dont know that I would recomend this trip for someone that is visiting napa for a short stay. This trip takes up... more

This weekend my husband and I and another couple went on the Murder Mystery Wine Train. We had a wonderful time! We checked in at 5:30. It was a very smooth process, where they gave us a "newspaper" with information about the murder mystery characters- a fun touch. I would recommend being there at 5:30 because it 's fun to... more

My husband and I both live in Napa but had never taken the Train. Even my family said it's nothing special and overpriced, and not to go. They were right! We went a couple years ago and were sorely disappointed. We took the lunch train. The food was so unmemorable that I can't even remember what we had. And all... more

It is true; we do have to travel through some urban landscape before entering the picture-postcard portion of our journey. During the 36 mile round trip, a mere 4 miles at the start and finish of the tour lie in the city of Napa, the rest is vistas of vineyards and wineries adjacent to the famed two-lane Highway 29. As...

My husband and I decided to do the Napa Wine Train thinking it was a good way to see some of Napa Valley. We were very disappointed. We did the lunch train and decided to do the cheapest ticket which was $50 a person and you had to buy your lunch in addition to the ticket. The train was a... more

We at the Wine Train, hope that we are always able to provide a memory-making experience for all our guests. While we do offer train fare only with the option of an a la carte menu, you might personally have enjoyed the Gourmet Express lunch more. The ticket price includes a three to four course lunch, as well as the...
