High expectations, good food, good service, high priced

I am a fan of the Iron Chef Morimoto. I looked forward to this meal in downtown Napa in his minimalistic designed restaurant. Sticky ribs app was very good. The meat fell off the bone. It was rich, sweet and spicy and delicious. Main course of yellow fin in a stone bowl that cooked on the side... read more

The service, decor, food was all very good. But, the value wasn't there. Unless you want to eat some rare Wagyu steak, abalone, or drink from the expansive (and expensive) Saki menu, I would pass on eating here and go somewhere else. Admittedly, it is cheaper than the French Laundry, but it's Napa and there's a ton of great places... More

The food was good nothing that will sweep you off. Started with Toro tartare which is OK, and then had the seafood toban yaki and angry chicken. For dessert we did fireball chocolate -- was quite a drama to watch the fire. Like I said it was good nothing great, it was just another dinner nothing much to remember other... More

So I went into dinner with an open mind thinking it was going to be an eclectic mix of things I don't particularly care for like Frois Grois, duck, confit, etc. Every appetizer we had was amazing beyond belief and honestly left me asking how he pulled those flavors together and out of the items we ate. Scallops in bacon... More

Morimoto Napa delivered a unique tasting and food presentation experience. The Hamachi tartare and soft shell maki were our favorites among other very good appetizers and entrees. Reservations are necessary for this high end Japanese restaurant.

The hype for this place was overrated. The food was good but definitely something I would brag about to my friends. We went a couple weeks ago while visiting Napa. Pretty atmosphere. Nice service. Good drinks. Food was okay. I had the carbonara and my husband and I shared the duck fried rice.

Came here out of curiosity and was not disappointed. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere was very modern and inviting. We sat at the sushi bar and were intrigued with the plating of food taking place in front of us. Each dish coming out was a work of art. A definite must try!

We just experienced the most incredible 9 course meal we have ever had. The creativity, beauty, taste, service were all exceptional! I was originally taking my husband as a surprise because I knew he would love The Omakase. This is where the chef prepares 9 incredible courses and you can be confident they will all be amazing. As a vegetarian... More

If you enjoy fine dining, this isn't it. My main course was good, I had the black cod, but the appetizers were not good and I couldn't eat the dessert. For appetizers we had the hamachi taco's and while the filling tasted good, the taco shell tasted like baking powder and distracted from the dish entirely. After that we had... More

Beautiful space, be we were on a dining odyssey, and we only had desserts and dessert wines at the bar. I must say it is visually stunning, both the architecture and the dessert plates Tofu Cheesecake and deconstructed Smores.
