The key here is to visit when it's not brutally crowded. It was clear that when they were VERY busy, the noise level went way up and the service (in the restaurant, bar, etc.) all went way down. The quality of service when the place was NOT packed, was great. This is a somewhat "off the beaten path" kind of... More

The outdoor seating under the trees is really nice. For breakfast I had the veggie scramble and the eggs were cooked too long not fluffy at all. I ordered rye toast and you only get 1 slice of bread cut in half. REALLY ! My wifes scrabble eggs were also way over cooked. The bloody marys were very good. The... More

We got lucky and the four of us were seated under a big umbrella on the patio of the Murphy's Hotel. Our server was rather busy as it took a long time to order lunch and iced tea. We enjoyed watching the people stroll by on the sidewalk adjacent to the patio. Lunch was average but tasty but the best... More

Terrible service and waited over 2 hours for our meal, there was nothing to like about the service and the food was quite average. Spend your money elsewhere.

The tour group I was with, ended up eating here twice. We had dinner, and the the next morning we had a late breakfast which was a part of our Local Roots Food Tour. We really enjoyed the food both times. We were limited on time for the dinner, and the staff was able to get our food to us... More

I was with a group of about 45 golfers and we had a group dinner here. We were in a side room and were served by two servers. They did a terrific job!!!!! One was a guy (worked there for about 4 years and the girl worked there about 2 years...as they told me). I had their world famous friend... More

My friend and I had a lovely dinner at the Murphy's historic hotel. We each had the fish and chips ($15. each) It was very tasty and we would highly recommend it. The service was great, too.

Authentic bar stood the test of time. Food was good and drinks were served with a smile. Can get crowded as everyone stops here. Turnover is fast so be patient.

Murphy's Restaurant and Hotel is a must see if you are visiting the town Murphy's ( or anywhere near). The food and service are wonderful, and the interior feels like you have stepped back in time. We stayed in Angels Camp for a week and ate at Murphy's Restaurant and Saloon 3 times during that week. The saloon is a... More
