Delicious old school burger joint

We came here after spending a day waiting for my dad to come out of surgery at the hospital around the corner. We were hungry and drove here to get a quick burger. So glad we came here instead of in and out. It is a cool old restaurant that looks like it hasn't been updated in a while. It... read more

Great burgers and plenty of add-ons to make this a more than full meal. Founded in 1945, frequented by me since 1965, friends and relatives always request that we eat at Clarke's. My favorite hangout in Mt View. Staff is very helpful, price is right and the burgers are so good.

I'd heard excellent things from so many people about this 70(?) year old burger joint. It definitely had a good feel to it. Prices were a bit steeper than I'd figured ($11-13 for a la carte), with a side of fries and one malt and we were already well over $50. 25 minutes later our food arrived. Bland, even with... More

Clarkes is a Mountain View tradition. Flame broiled hamburgers served up any way you want them, including Veggie patty, turkey patty or traditional all beef. French fries and oh-so-delicious milk shakes will definitely blow your calorie budget, but at least you won't care. One bite of that juicy mouth-watering hamburger and you can close your eyes in tastebud heaven. Try... More

I have been a long time fan of Clarke's. Really good burgers, fries and milkshakes. I always take out-of-town family and friends here. Highly recommended.

Grilled on an open flame right in front of you! Ahhh real burgers. Great do it yourself condiment bar. We also enjoyed the fries - small basket is pretty big! Good drink options as well. Nice outside patio space, good for groups with big tables. Right on El Camino, but doesn't really matter that much. Semi-enclosed space makes it nice.... More

I've been coming to this little place for decades. Its conveniently located on El Camino so it's easy to find and usually has ample parking in its small lot or on adjacent streets. I love the make your own burger with a condiment bar that is always fresh, even if I drop in just before they close. It's not the... More

This small grill has served several generations- I've been going for over 60 years! It is a landmark on the peninsula... Great charcoal grilled burgers, wonderful condiment bar lets you build it your way, friendly service and a fair price. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy a locally owned/ non-chain gem.

Had a great burger, You get to customize your burger with fresh lettuce, condiments, etc. worth the trip to this shack on the side of the road.
