Good Spanish Tapas at affordable prices

Cascal's is a popular spot on Castro, and has been for the 10 or so years it has been open. It offers an ample array of vegetarian, seafood and meat Tapas and full meals (four Tapas serves two quite well). What we like best is the offering of uncommon Spanish and South American wines like Malbecs... read more

Heard a lot about this Spanish restaurant so we went here for our friends Birthday party on warm Saturday night . We got a table after a waiting time of 30 mins, which was okay. The restaurant was full and there was a live band playing. The atmosphere was Vibrant. I was a little depressed when I asked for a... More

I have eaten here a number of times in large and small groups and the food has been consistently good but the service stinks. I will not be eating here anytime soon. They do not honor reservations and they treat their customers very badly. My money will be going where it is welcome.

My husband & I are vegetarians and love to find local restaurants that include good vegetarian entrees on their menus. Cascal does not disappoint! The vegetarian paella is delicious. We order the large version and always have enough to take home for left-overs. There are also several appetizers/small plates that we enjoy - especially the eggplant tian. Accompany this with... This is a great option to get something a little different in Mountain View. The tapas are excellent, if a little expensive. It can get pretty crowded on the weekends, so come early or expect a wait.

Large restaurant, ample outside seating, huge windows with upscale window coverings. Tapas, South American, Cuban and Spanish flair food. Interesting combos. The place is very loud. We went on hump day, and I can only imagine how it sounds on Friday or Sat. nite. Ordered Valencia Salad– Fresh fennel, arugula, orange segments, strawberries, green olives, almonds, and goat cheese in... More

I used to love Cascal, but on last two visits, service was not great with indifferent servers and food seemed smaller portions and not as well-prepared. Hope they were just off days. Too many other great places within a few blocks to waste hard earned cash here.

The menu has a large variety of different tapas and paella dishes. We had the mushrooms, corn, lamb chops, grilled garlic shrimp and a small mixed combination paella dish. It was a good amount of food for the 3 of us. The wait staff were very efficient. Niceneg reminder of Spain in downtown Mountain View.

We go to Cascal for our special occasions. I always ask for patio 'cause I wear hearing aids (I'm not that old, but I was told 'Use it or Lose it'). Inside is loud, great if you're into the bar scene. Open Table doesn't seem to communicate that request.
