I highly recommend the flaky wild mushroom empanadas seasoned with Manchego cheese and truffle oil, sautéed chicken livers with Xeres vinegar and sherry wine, as well as the roasted beet salad served with Cabrales cheese and fresh apple. I also highly recommend the Paella, lamb chops and the fried calamari. Inside it’s so busy that it can be noisy, but... More

This place stands out from the clatter of restaurants on MV's Castro Street. We've been here often over the years and have yet to be disappointed. For people like me with hearing loss, the decibel level can be a challenge, but the tapas selections are worth it. Best for groups of 4 or more, when you can share easily, especially... More

We've been there with my colleagues to celebrate Friday ;). It was overloaded (because you know each and every would like to end up with Friday) so basically we have to wait our table and service was also a little bit laggy but overall impression is great. Food was delicious and we also ordered pitcher of local drink (I know... More

Food is delicious and the service is spot on. It gets very lively on weekends, especially when there is live music - so if you don't like good Latin music, maybe this isn't the place for you. We enjoy dining there for lunch and dinner - Good menu!

By comparison with tapas served in Barcelona, this does not hit the authentic scale, but that said, the food is tasty, fresh and well-prepared. All our party seemed to enjoy the experience and the opportunity to share dishes is always good for bonding... Not a place for a romantic night out, but perfect for a team outing.

Recommended by a co-worker I went to Cascal with high hopes. Unfortunately, it didn't meet the standards that I was expecting. First, I was expecting traditional Spanish Tapas, and instead this is more Mexican/Spanish fusion Tapas. Much different. Okay, I'll give it a try. Staff was just not that friendly. Met at the door with a scour and waiter was... More

Love the food, especially the olive oil dipping sauce for the bread, but it's always very full and very noisy.

Heard a lot about this Spanish restaurant so we went here for our friends Birthday party on warm Saturday night . We got a table after a waiting time of 30 mins, which was okay. The restaurant was full and there was a live band playing. The atmosphere was Vibrant. I was a little depressed when I asked for a... More

Cascal's is a popular spot on Castro, and has been for the 10 or so years it has been open. It offers an ample array of vegetarian, seafood and meat Tapas and full meals (four Tapas serves two quite well). What we like best is the offering of uncommon Spanish and South American wines like Malbecs and Tampranillos without the... More

I have eaten here a number of times in large and small groups and the food has been consistently good but the service stinks. I will not be eating here anytime soon. They do not honor reservations and they treat their customers very badly. My money will be going where it is welcome.
