OK Italian...there are better options

I have lived in Palo Alto for 50 years and wanted Italian and was in the Mt. View area and decided to go back to Frankie Johnie and Luigi for dinner. Is was not the same place I remembered. Corners were cut. The salad was weak and while portions are large.... they seemed hap hazard and not put... read more

We have enjoyed going here for several years. Its a fun place for Italian food and somewhat a "legend" in Mountain View area. Tonight, we both had a glass of chianti, their good bread, minestrone soup, and main dish. My husband had rotelli and I had spaghetti. Portions were good size so we can enjoy at another meal as well.... More

My wife and I always enjoy Frankie Johnnie and Luigi Too. Their food, service , good selection of wine and beer and quality of food is very good. Plus they serve gluten free noodles and can adapt a bit for people with gluten allergies. Good for everyone, especially couples. Just a fun place. Also they make great pizza and gluten free... More

Had a meeting with two friends and was very glad we chose F J L. We sat at table in the bar area and got excellent service from Diego. The lasagna was marvelous, the ravioli and meatballs were excellent and the spaghetti very good. The prices were exceptionally reasonable. Wish I had left room to try the desert. Will definitely... This place has been around since I was a kid and we used to love coming here. Came back for a quick dinner with friends and it was pretty disappointing. I can make 1/2 of the items myself so it was tough to find something different. I ordered a salmon pasta which had chunks of fish, like leftover from someone... More

We always stop here for pasta lunch when visiting family. This year we had a great post-flight lunch of lasagna and pasta alfredo.

We arrived and put our name on the wait list. The bar was almost empty so we went there to wait. No one came to get a drink order. We were really hungry and wanted to order appetizers as well. Slowly the bar filled up and when we looked around, ever single person around us had a drink and we... More

I liked the pasta dishes and other Italian food at this place. It is off the main restaurant area of Castro St on a busy road. Good value for a bottle of the house wines. Good value overall.

Needed an early dinner with our son and infant granddaughter so thought Frankie, Johnnie, & Luigi Too would be fine. The starters ...wedge salad, Ceasar salad, and bruschetta came very fast and were flavorful. My capellini pomodora was okay...guess I am not a big fan of large hunks of tomatoes on spaghetti. The other diners thought their meals were adequate.... More

Took my Granddaughter to lunch this week at FJL. Excellent place to take a child! Once you sit down, you get an extensive children's menu with many games on it to keep the kiddie amused. The rolls made my granddaughter happy as they were warm and soft and smelled wonderful. Her pasta meal was perfectly cooked and came with a... More
